To the Moon!

Good evening!
I have a fun kid's birthday card to share tonight that I made with some adorable 'alien' stamp images and fun bright, cheerful glittered patterned papers.  Although this card has lots of glitter on the paper and the images, I designed it for a special little boy who just celebrated his 8th birthday - I hope he won't mind.  I used Card Patterns sketch 91 as the inspiration for the card.

Card Details
Stamps: unknown alien clear stamps - sorry!; sentiment: Amuse and Heidi Grace
Ink: Memento
Cardstock: DCWV The Glitter Mat Stack
Other: Lacey and plain circles nestabilities; copic markers; crystal stickles, Martha Stewart border punch

here's the inside view...

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

Happy Valentines' Day!

This morning, I'm sharing a couple of Valentines that are in the mail on their way to my neice Emily and my nephew Austin. They'll get them late... sorry guys!

The images were all stamped in black memento ink on GinaK's Pure Luxury cardstock and colored with Copics. The first card's stamps are from Stampin Up and as you can see I went crazy with the Labels 1 Nestability shapes! It was a fun one to make for Emily - I think she'll like it.

Next up is Austin's valentine...

He loves to watch the old western shows with Grandpa and for a while thought it was cool to dress up like the Lone Ranger. He may not be into cowboys so much now - I think he's moved on to Batman and SuperMan, but since I recently bought this Amuse cowboy stamp it had to do.

I wish I had gotten a bettter photo of the cowboy. After coloring with Copics, I went over some of the areas with different Sakura Glaze and Glitter pens - so he's sparkly and shiny. I used a retired SU heart for the lasso.

Thanks for stopping in - I hope your day is spent with the ones you love the most. I will have more Valentine's Day cards up for tomorrow!

Chairished....

Hi again!

Since I have so many Valentine's Day cards to share, I thought I'd do a double post today to share the cards I'm sending my parents. Earlier I shared the one for my mom, and tonight I'm showing the one for my dad.

I found these Amuse stamps clearanced out at a local stamping store in Madison and thought they would be perfect for guy cards. Amuse stamps are really tiny, so they can be a challenge to use on a regular sized card sometimes, but with some double layering of a nestability die, I think it works.

The metallic paper is from a DCWV stack and is my go to cardstock to use on masculine based cards lately. The texture of the paper is so nice and once you emboss it... well, it's just yummy! The image was colored with Copics and black diamond stickles were used to dot the center buttons.

I hope you'll be able to check back in tomorrow for more Valentine's Day cards!

Happy Birthday, Brad!

Hi!

Today (February 8th) is my husband Brad's birthday! It's actually a pretty busy birthday day because it's also GinaK's birthday as well as Jen Balcer from Splitcoast Stampers birthday too!

My husband is an avid race car fan, so he is always so happy when February rolls around because it means Nascar racing starts up again. He has always been a car guy too, so when I saw these fun stamps at a local stamping store (Scrapbook Superstore, for all you Madison readers) I had to buy them. They are from Amuse and Memory Box and work perfectly together for my husband because he has recently begun to develop a healthy obsession with bicycling.

We've been enjoying some warmer weather this month too, so he's been out biking again. And, by warmer, I mean we've finally gotten above freezing around here! It's really sad actually that the 30's and 40's feel like spring to us here in Wisconsin! lol!

I just love this sentiment from Amuse because it perfectly describes Brad's feelings about racing and driving. For me, it's about getting from point A to point B without any hassels. While for him, it's all about the journey, the car, the road, the engine... and whole bunch of other things that I honestly don't get... lol! But, he puts up with my papercrafting foolishness, so it's the least I can do to humor him too, right?

Everything is stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with Copic markers on GinaK's Pure luxury cardstock. I used my new Curvy Rectangles Nestabilities - which I absolutely LOVE. I used my Sakura Glaze and Glitter pens to add some details to the stamped images. It's noticeable more in person than on the computer screen, I'm sure.

The metallic paper is from a small DieCuts with a View paper pack that I always seem to gravitate toward using when I'm making masculine cards. My husband loves anything metallic and I love how beautifully the textured papers emboss so they work well for his cards.

The birthday sentiments are from a retired Stampin Up birthday greetings set. I stamped the bear on the bicycle once on the far right hand side of the card and then continuously stamped the same image moving it slightly to the left without reinking to simulate movement. I really like how it ended up.

You may be able to see the glaze and glitter pens better in this photo...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed Brad's card as much as he did!
