Hi!

I'm back as promised with a little treat box I made with Theresa Momber's Fanciful Fall stamp set and a SU Sizzix die, I believe it's the Fancy Favor die.  This was a relatively quick and easy gift box - love those Sizzix dies for taking all the guess work out of little gift boxes!

Spooky Boo!

Good evening!

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days here on my blog.  We squeezed in a little family vacation to our favorite waterpark in Wisconsin Dells before the summer ended and the kids start back at school.  They go back tomorrow morning, so we're busy getting everything set tonight so tomorrow's routine can run as smoothly as possible!  Ahhh... early mornings - we have NOT missed you at all!  lol!

My card tonight uses the new Boo! stamp set designed by Asela Hopkins available through GinaK Designs.  The images are so cute and worked well for this little 4 1/4" square card I whipped up last week.  I was trying to use up some scraps of patterned paper on my desk and really liked how they all came together for this little card -

If you look closely at the card above, you may be able to see the lines of glitter from the Sakura clear glitter pen and the white ghost peeking out the open door.  So cute!

Preview Day 2

Good evening!

Tami has designed a beautiful stamp set with delicate floral images along with touching sentiments and verses that I am thrilled to have in my collection.  I chose to use a couple of sentiments and floral images on my card tonight, letting the images take center stage as they should.  The card is pretty basic - I let Tami's beautiful images along with some patterned papers from my very favorite patterned paper company October Afternoon do all the 'work' for me!

Theresa has done it again!  I seriously don't know how she can draw these realistic images by hand, do you!?  Her new set, Farm Life is gorgeous and will be much used and loved in my collection!  While this card is pretty simple in design, I am in love with the simplicity of it and plan to use this layout more often!  I love the size of her images in her set and how easily they make the focal point of the card or scrapbook pages... which you'll see from me later as well.

And, to finish off my projects for tonight I have a card with Asela's new adorable Boo! stamp set - just look at how cute these images are!  And, that sentiment - simply adorable!  I made this 3 1/4" x 6 1/4" card with some halloween paper from Basic Grey because they just naturally seemed to go together.  This was a super quick and easy card to put together too - I love it when it works out like that, don't you?

Spooky Halloween

Good evening!

I hope you've enjoyed your weekend - fall is definitely here in full force in Madison... at least the sun was out all weekend so that helped the temperatures to be a little more mild than we've had in a while.

I've been so busy sharing Christmas cards on my blog lately, that I wanted to be sure to sneak this Halloween card in that I made a few weeks ago before it's too late!

You know how much I love Penny Black images - so it's probably not a big surprise to you when I tell you that I ordered several more of their clear stamp sets last weekend! They came a few days ago and I can't wait to get them inky! I always order my Penny Black stamps from 7Kid's College Fund because their prices are great as well as their customer service and shipping.

I took several photos to share tonight so you could see the dimension and sparkle on all the images.

For the inside - I used some clear Inkadinkadoo stamps that I bought awhile ago at Archivers. Super cheap and fun to decorate the insides of my Halloween cards. I don't make many of them, so the price was right for this set - it was less than $2, I believe.

Isn't this Penny Black image adorable!? I love how big the hat is for this little kitty's head! I had fun with this little Halloween card combining some mini Inkadinkadoo stamps that I bought recently at Archiver's. They worked perfectly together to make this 'spooky' scene ...

We don't do much - if anything for Halloween in our house, but I couldn't resist making this card for my nieces... now, if I could only be a good aunt and get the card in the mail to them on time! I'm terrible about actually sending out cards to people - which is something that I'm trying to work on since I have SO many cards in my stash to send out!

Trick or Treat Shaker Card

Good evening!

Over the weekend, I had some stamping time, so I decided to pull out this oldie but goodie stamp set of GinaK's called Happy Haunting. These little trick-or-treaters are so adorable!

Making shaker cards are so easy with Nestabilities - they do all the hard cutting for you! The kids are colored with Copic markers and I used Micro beads & mini silver beads to fill the shaker.

Here's the inside view - this time I used a couple of images from Gina's Spooky Silhouettes stamp set since both of these sets work perfectly together!


Here's one more photo, so you can see how the fun the beads are with these kids! My daughter Ashley went wild for the beads - lol!

Halloween Treats Class Projects

Hi again!

I wanted to share the fun projects we'll be making this Thursday, October 2nd at Gina's store. I have 2 class sessions - 11:30-1:30 and 5:30-7:30.

We'll be using Ranger's Alcohol inks to alter these 2 tins. During last month's release, Gina shared a super adorable treat pouch made with her Spooky Silhouettes stamp set that we'll make as well. To finish it off, we'll use the score pal and paper punches to make this fun little box. Then, we'll fill them all with candy! That's the best part, right?!

If you'd like to join us, I still have a few openings available. The class cost is $25 which includes all the supplies as well as the candy.

Halloween Projects

Good evening!

Today's Stop and Stamp was a blast! Thank you, ladies, for spending some time with me today stamping and chatting. It was such a fun day seeing everyone and watching everyone have fun stamping.

I'm sorry to say that I can't share any of the projects I've been working on lately because they are all made with some brand new stamps that Gina will be releasing this Thursday, October 3rd. Previews will begin Tuesday, September 30th. I promise that you are going to LOVE these new stamps!! Again with the teasing... sorry about that!

So, I thought I'd share some of my favorite Halloween projects I made last year with these adorable Stampin Up stamps. The first project is a little M&M treat holder. It's a pouch that I made - nothing fancy, but does the job. Kids are only interested in the candy anyway, right?

I made a little template by measuring my M&M packet, and formulated my own little template. It's nothing to special, so I'm not even going to bother to share my template with you because there are so many better ones out there. If you are looking for good templates, check out the ScorPal website - they have the BEST templates. Splitcoast Stampers is another awesome resource for templates and project ideas too.

The Trick or Treater is from Booglie Eyes - don't you love the 2 different sized googlie eyes on him? I watercolored him with my Watercolor Crayons.

This little card has lots of texture and dimension that the camera doesn't really pick up very well. The background is stamped with a variety of Stampin Up background stamps. The words are from Hero Arts. The teddy bear witch is from an old retired Stampin Up set called Costume Bears. I watercolored her in with Watercolor crayons and then I stamped her head, broom, and bat a second time and popped them up.

I hope you have a great weekend - tomorrow looks like a great day for me to play in my stamping room for a while. Hopefully I'll have something new to share with you instead of having to go into the archives... Lol!

Joseph's Coat Autumn Cards

Good morning!

Today I get to show you a few more cards with 2 more new sets that will be released this Friday night: Spooky Silhouettes and Autumn Leaves. The first card shows Gina's Free with Three Stamp Set, Autumn Leaves. I really like this set because of all the different techniques that you can use with the leaves in this set. For both of the cards in today's sneak peeks, I pulled out an old favorite technique of mine, Joseph's Coat.

The card above started with a piece of whisper white cardstock. I brayered the cardstock with my (now retired) Stampin Up Earth Elements Spectrum Pad. Next, I stamped the leaves in versamark and clear embossed them. Then, I brayered black ink over the entire piece of cardstock watching while the clear embossing powder resists the black dye ink. Ashley and Brad watched while I made one sample and they thought I was ruining it... LOL! That's what it looks like at first, until you see the magic of the resist appear!

To make the night sky pop even more, I stamped the leaves again in versamark and this time embossed with detail gold embossing powder. The gold dots are supposed to be stars in the sky - in case you were wondering. I was only going to add a few dots, but then my Zig painty pen dripped, so I went with the full starry night look! LOL! Hey - there are no mistakes in stamping, right? Only more possibilities to embellish! heehee... All you stamping class ladies know that mantra of mine, right?!



The tag is one of Gina's Bling and Dazzle tags - I used a couple of Ranger Alcohol inks for the polished stone look on it. This saying is also from Gina's Autumn Leaves stamp set. I stamped it in versamark and then traced the letters with my Zig Painty Pen - the same one I used for my faux stars. I edged around the tag with the pen too, as you can see in this close-up.


This second card is another super simple one done with the same Joseph's Coat Technique. This time, though, I used white glossy paper to brayer the spectrum pad on. The black paper is actually black glossy paper, so there is quite a bit of shine on this card which made it very hard to photograph well.

I was so excited to see this stamp set - it goes so well with Gina's other Halloween Stamp set called Happy Haunting. I don't have a Weeping Willow tree - and look at how cool Gina's is! And, I'm a little embarrassed to admit how excited I am to have a circle stamp that can be a sun or a moon or even just a plain circle! Isn't it kind of crazy how sometimes it's the simplest things that can make a stamper happy - or is it just me that's so easily pleased!? heehee...

A few tips when you try this technique:
*Splitcoast Stampers has an excellent tutorial on Joseph's Coat that can be found here.
*It's best to have 2 brayers - one for black (or any dark ink because it will stain your brayer) and one for lighter inks. It's much handier not to have to clean them between the steps on this technique.
*To wipe all the ink away, take a paper towel and buff the rest of it off the embossing powder.
*Bold or thicker lined stamps show off the brayered background best.
