Happy birthday, Lorie!

Good morning!

I have another birthday card to share with you today!  lol!  This card was made for Lorie, the amazing DT coordinator for Peachy Keen Stamps.  To know her is to love and appreciate her, trust me.  She made my time with Peachy Keen Stamps an easy one - always available for questions and help along with kindness and thoughtfulness to all her team members.

There is a blog hop going on for her birthday today, so if you've been following along on the hop, you should have arrived here from Denise's blog.

I pulled out my all time favorite Peachy Keen Stamps critter - the Faceless Chicken stamp set.  I added a set of eyes from the Chickie Face Assortment stampset (the 3/4" as is recommended) and used the sentiments from the Clucks Sentiments stamp set, stamping them on patterned paper and cutting them out individually as shown above.  I also used the Chicken Wire background stamp set on the yellow card front - I love PKS background stamps!

As you can see, I paper pieced the chicken, adding some Copic highlights and then 'tucked' her in a nest of tissue paper, die cut with a scallop circle and crinkled up for texture.  I should have spritzed some brown or yellow ink over the tissue paper (or used colored tissue paper) because the white is pretty washed out on the card.  It looks better in person.  lol!

Next up on the hop is Corina!.

Happy, happy birthday, Lorie!
I hope this is a wonderful day and year for you, sweet lady!

Peachy Keen Stamps June Release blog hop!

Welcome to the June Release Peachy Keen Stamps blog hop!

All the new stamps are now available for purchase - yay!  To celebrate, the designers are joining together for a blog hop event to show the rest of the samples we've prepared for you using the new stamp sets.  If you've been following along on the hop, you should have arrived here from Jessica's blog.
If not, please consider starting at the beginning so you don't miss out on anything along the way.  The full blog hop list is over on the PKS company blog as well as the prize available for YOU to win!

My first card for today uses several new products on it - it's pretty busy and colorful!  lol!  The clown is from the June Stamp of the Month (LOVE it!), the popcorn, cotton candy, sentiments, and one of the little tickets are all from the Circus Treats stamp set.  The other ticket is from the Elephant Ride set.

I also used both of the new background stamps on this card - the Chinese Swirls was stamped in Vintage Cream ink on teal cardstock and the Polka Dot Circus was stamped on the inside of the envelope since the paper was single sided, but all the treats and clown ended up covering most of it up anyway...lol!

My second card is MUCH simpler.  I used the adorable Clown Car and Elephant stamp set for the images and sentiments, stamped on the ticket die cut.  Simple but fun!

Next up on the hop is Joanna!

Happy Hopping!

Peachy Keen Stamps Preview Day 4.

Good evening!

Tonight I'm joining several designers from Peachy Keen Stamps in showing three new stamp sets that will be available for purchase tomorrow!  Be sure to check out the PKS blog for everyone's cards and links as well as how you can win some PKS goodies for yourself!

First up is a card I made using one of my favorites from this release: Little Peanut.
It's so adorable and fun to build your own little 'peanut!'

My second card was a fun one to make with lots of patterned papers and some older paper punches I've had in my stash for ages!  I used the new Clowning Around Faces 1 1/8" for the flower's center - so fun!  The sentiment is from the Elephant Parade stamp set.

My last card is a gift card of sorts.
(Sorry for the poor photo - I was having a hard time getting my focus to work right on this one for some reason!)

I used an older Stampin Up envelope die for the money holder and then added the peanut and a sentiment from Little Peanut, a face from the Clowning Around Face Assortment.  So fun!

Thanks for checking in on my tonight!

I'll be back tomorrow for the PKS new release blog hop - see you then!

Hi there!

Tonight, I'm joining several designers from Peachy Keen Stamps in showcasing two of the new stamp sets that will be available for purchase on June 5th.  This month it's all about the Big Top - the circus!  Such a FUN, fun release!  To see all the stamp sets previewed yesterday as well as tonight, be sure to check out the PKS blog!

My first card shows the adorable new Elephant Parade.
Seriously adorable!

I paper pieced one of the elephant images quite a bit to make her come to life.  The party hat and tiny tickets are also from the stamp set.  The larger ticket with the birthday sentiment is from June 2014 Stamp of the Month, previewed on the PKS blog yesterday.

My second card uses the fun It's Showtime stamp set - such fun images in this one too!

The tent, hat, and 'tops' sentiment are from the stamp set as well while the tickets are from the same June Stamp of the Month set as my first card.  "Dad" was spelled out using the Retrobet Alphabet.

Now, please hop over to the PKS company blog for lots more samples and the information on how you can win some great new stamp goodies for yourself!

Peachy Keen Stamps April Release blog hop!

Good evening!

Tonight the designers from Peachy Keen Stamps are joining together to celebrate April's new release with a blog hop!

If you've been following along on tonight's hop, you should have arrived here from The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog.  Next up on the hop is the fabulous Joanna!

I have three cards to share tonight using nearly all of the new release.  My retirement card uses the fabulous new Polka Dot background along with the new April Stamp of the Month set.

My second card uses several stamps: the Checkerboard Background, April Stamp of the Month (for the leaves and sentiment), Cartoon Bombshell Faces Assortment (for the sun), and The 50's for the funky silver frame.

As you can see, I was a bit obsessed with Vellum and heat embossing with my cards for this release! And patterned papers... and color... ha!

My last card is SO BRIGHT - grab your sunglasses!  I used the fun The 50's stamp set for the background and squares - all stamped with Versamark and white embossed.  The sentiment is stamped with the new Retro-Bet Round alphabet set.  So fun!  The icecream float image is from the April Stamp of the Month set.

Whew!

Next up on the hop is the fabulous Joanna!

You're Amazing!

Hi there!

Tonight, I'm joining several designers from Peachy Keen Stamps in showcasing some of the new April release stamp sets that will be available for purchase tomorrow.  To see everyone's cards for today's hop, please check out the PKS blog.

I used the new PKSC-28 April Stamp of the Month stamp set for the flamingo and leaf images along with the PK-1382 Flamingo Phrases for the sentiment.

The PK-1380 Checkerboard background stamp is just one of the new fabulous background stamps - I love PKS background stamps!!

I paper pieced the adorable flamingo and layered a sheet of vellum over the checkerboard background to soften it a bit.  Then for some added dimension, I stamped the leaf image in versamark and embossed with white embossing powder - love the layered look!

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

Calling all Spring Chickens: Peachy Keen Stamps blog hop!

Good morning!

Welcome to the March Mid-Month Release Blog Hop at Peachy Keen Stamps!

You should have arrived here from Joanna's Blog, if you’re hopping along in the set order, but if you just happened upon this post then you can go back to the beginning at The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog and start from there so you don’t miss one wonderful project.

You’ll find the complete blog hop order on The Peachy Keen Stamps Blog should you happen to get lost along the way.

So, I was a bit patterned paper, spring colors, and texture crazy when I designed my cards for today's hop.  Put your sunglasses on and check them out! lol!

I used the adorable Faceless Chickens with the coordinating Chickie Face Assortment stamp set for both cards - my first one was made like a 'traditional' chicken and my second was designed to look like a peep!   The sentiment on the first card is from the adorable add-on Clucks sentiment stamp set.

Can I just say right now how much I LOVE PKS background stamps - they are just fabulous!  Kathy is releasing two new ones, both of them just perfect in my book:  the Chicken Wire (used on the first card) and Harringbone (used on my second card below).  As you can see, I stamped them in Versamark ink, embossed with white detail embossing powder on patterned paper - so fun with the double pattern/texture on them both!

My second card is as bright and busy as my first - lol!  The sentiment is from the new Sunny Side Up - that set is so fun with the sentiments and the sunglasses image!  I used last month's Kawaii's Face Assortment stamp set (the 1" size) for the face on my sun die cut.

To continue on today's blog hop, please check hop over to Jessica Esch's blog!

Happy hopping and have a great day!

Hi Sweetie!

Hi there!

I'm joining with several designers from Peachy Keen Stamps to show our new Color Challenge, inspired by this beautiful spring photo:

I adore these colors for spring, especially after the long hard winter we've had.  I used my favorite teddy bear: Thinking of You, which has an adorable new smaller size available too right here: Teddy Bear Love.  I paper pieced Teddy with patterned papers from PaperTrey Ink, adding just a bit of shading with copics and pieced him all back together to put on the card (papers from October Afternoon).

FYI:  Whenever I paper piece, I always use my black Versafine ink, especially on patterned paper.  It's the only really crisp, dark, black ink that I've found that keeps the image lines nice and clear.  I usually add a bit of shading with my Copics and find that the ink can smear a bit, but if I'm careful not to add too much marker to the inked lines, my results are usually good.  The crisp, clear black lines are more important to me than the bit of smearing that may occur.  I've had mine for YEARS and use it everytime I stamp (especially for all the sentiments on my cards) and have never needed to replace or refill it.  If you're looking for a good functional black ink, I highly recommend it!

All the details to the challenge can be found here.
I hope you get a chance to play along with us!

PKS Trendspotting Inspiration.

Hi there!

I have a card today to share with you that I made for Peachy Keen Stamps using this photo for my inspiration:

Isn’t that beautiful!?

As you can see from my card, I was inspired by several elements in the photo… the layout, the colors, the gold, the stitching, the ruffled trim to name just a few. I pulled out the July 2013 SOTM stamp set and used the coffee latte cup for the focal image. To keep with the basic colors of the photo, I decided to paper piece the mug with green patterned paper but left everything else in light browns.

I pulled out my white liquid applique for a fun technique I love to use for ‘foamy’ images. I dabbed the liquid applique all over the foam part of the stamp set and then sprinkled a tiny bit of gold mica glitter and then sprinkled fine clear glitter over it all before heating it up with my heat tool. It’s so fun to watch it bubble up and the glitter helps the bubbling action to not get ‘too crazy’ and also adds some sparkle.

In keeping with the ruffled trim, I added some lace to the bottom of my card with adhesive and then tied some gold elastic cording around it to add just a bit more of that luscious gold to finish my project off!
I layered the tag over another tag die cut from gold card stock and then stamped the sentiments (also from the same stamp set) in Versafine ink and embossed with fine detail gold embossing powder.

Have a great rest of your day!

Peachy Keen Stamps: Matt & Janice Wilson stamp set

Hi there!

Tonight, the designers from Peachy Keen Stamps are joining together to share another new stamp set for March's release.  This is a cute one called Matt & Janice Wilson.  I think it's pretty cute that it seems to be named after a couple!

I stamped the bride and groom on some vellum card stock and embossed with white detail embossing powder and layered over some patterned berry sorbet paper.  Janice needed a bouquet of flowers, so I glued some Wild Rose roses in her hand.

This is a fun card size - it's 3.5 x 5.5.  I love quick and simple but elegant wedding cards to add to my stash, don't you?

Be sure to check out the other designer's projects that they've prepared for today's hop over at PKS' blog and leave comments along the way for your chance to win the set for yourself!

Have a great rest of your day!

Peachy Keen February Sneak Peek: Day 1

Hi there!

I'm back with a second post of the day to join some of my fellow designers in showing the new Peachy Keen  Stamps March Stamp of the Month: PKSC-27.  This is such a cute stamp set - be sure to check out the PKS company blog for lots more samples with images from this new set.

I decided to do a bit of watercoloring with the car image.  I embossed the car with white embossing powder and then used Distress Markers and a waterbrush to do some sloppy painting.  When it was dry, I used a couple of Copic markers for just a bit more subtle shading.

Some sloppy stitching, off-set scallop die cuts, flowers and cutting the heart border out of felt all made for a very 'shabby chic' finish to my card.  I did a watercolor wash on the tag as well to help the sentiment pop and added a couple of EK Success heart stickers.

Be sure to hop over to the Peachy Keen Stamps blog to leave a comment there and on the other designer's blog for your chance to the stamp we're showcasing today!  The winner will be announced tomorrow night at 6pm CST on the PKS blog.

Have a great rest of your day!
Jessica
