Make a Wish: Silhouette Stamps

Hi there!

While blog surfing this afternoon, I came across a post on the PaperCraft's Moxie Fab blog discussing silhouette stamps and was inspired to pull out my favorite The Craft's Meow Butterfly Kisses silhouette stamp set to create this card.  I'm entering my card into the Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge post.

Have you seen or gotten the new magazine yet?  It's one of their best magazines so far and that's not just because I'm in it!  lol!  I'm so excited that I have 2 cards published in the magazine!  I really love it because of all the different designers and companies represented this time in the magazine - you'll find lots of inspiration and new companies to love, I'm sure!  I know I did!  *wink!*

Back to my card... I used Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe papers - oh how I love their papers!

Card Details
Stamps: Butterfly Kisses (The Craft's Meow)
Ink: Versafine black; PTI white; Distress green
Card stock: Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe
Other: Lace; Sewing machine; PTI ticket die; dauber; Spellbinder label 13; black twine from The Twinery; martha Stewart butterfly punch; SU clip; rhinestones

I was tickled to see how well the sentiment from the Butterfly Kisses stamp set fit so well in the PaperTrey Ink ticket die ...

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!  The kids are excited to see the fireworks tonight and I'm glad to have a couple of days off this week, for a long holiday weekend!  lol!

Congratulations

Hi!

I have a card to share with you that I created for 2 challenges.  Each Thursday, the POM Outlaw group issues a new challenge and this week it's one of my favorites: anything goes!  Create a card with anything except Copic markers - easy, right!?  So, while I sat down earlier this week to create my project, I took a look at this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger photo:
I was inspired with those polka dots, so I pulled out Layers of Color Flutterescent stamp set and choose the butterfly image that is filled with polka dots and stamped it in SU's Purely Pomegranate ink. Then, I turned the clear stamp image to the reverse side and inked the back of the stamp in SU's Pale Plum ink and created my own custom shadow stamp image.

Then, I stamped over the entire white panel with the script background from Layers of Color The Love Chapter in SU's pale plum ink and shaded the edges a bit.  After stamping the sentiment from LOC's Sent with Love, I did a bit of stitching and added some Martha Stewart butterfly punch-outs and called it done!

To view the other Outlaws designer's projects as well as to add your card to our challenge this week, please check out this link.  Don't forget to pop over to the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger post too to check out all the participating designers playing along this week!

Have a great rest of your day!
Jessica

Moxie Fab: Make Mine a Double!

Hi there!

This afternoon I had the opportunity to make a card for this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Inspiration photo: A Burst of Blooms

I was inspired by a couple of things in this photo.  First of all the size - I like the brown chair with the afghan draped over it and decided to use a 3" x 11" scrap of Kraft card stock for my card base (scored at 5 1/2").  Then, I was drawn to the shape of the flowers in the afghan and thought of this PTI doily die mimicked the shape quite well.  Lastly, the afghan itself had a 'polka dot' feel to me, so I pulled out some October Afternoon polka dot scrap paper to use on the card front.

Card Details (3 1/4" x 5 1/2" card size)
Stamps: Make Mine a Double (MFT)
Ink: Versafine black; Distress tumbled glass & broken china (inside)
Card stock: Copic Xpress it; MFT solid; October Afternoon patterned
Other: Sewing machine; MFT scallop die; PTI doily die; May Arts silk ribbon; Copic markers; detail clear embossing powder; dauber; Spica glitter pens; Spellbinder long rectangle die

and the inside view...

It was quite enjoyable using up several scrap patterned papers to make this card - love to mix and match patterned papers from a variety of October Afternoon lines.  It just makes me happy that all their collections work so well together!

Thanks for checking in on me today!

Follow your Heart...

Hi there!

I had the chance to make this fun card today using another adorable Penny Black image.  This one is called Easy Rider - isn't Mimi adorable on her little lime green bike?  I used this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger photo for my inspiration for the colors on my card.  Looking at the cupcake liners, I noticed the pleating and thought the bicycle wheel spokes bore a little resemblance to them... a stretch maybe, but it did help me choose the image to use for my card!  *wink!*

This week's SCS Friday Free for All Challenge was also an inspiration for my card, as we were asked to create a project Inspired by the Sun.  My husband is an avid bicyclist and as soon as it's above 40 degrees, he's out riding his bike.  I'm not quite the fan of those bike seats, or I would join him... lol!

Card Details
Stamps: Easy Rider (Penny Black); Whimsical Words (SU)
Ink: Versafine black
Card stock: GinaK white; Copic Xpress it white; SU patterned and colored
Other: Sewing machine; Wild Orchid flowers; Punch Bunch leaf punches; SU ribbons; Copic markers; Crystal lacquer; Marvy Scallop circle punch; Spellbinder lacy circles die; detail clear embossing powder; Martha Stewart butterfly punch; rhinestones

and the inside view...

For some reason, my camera really did a number on the colors of the inside of this card, but I promise you - they DO match in real life... yikes!

Thanks for checking in on me today!

Hello Friend

 Good morning!

Today I have a colorful, spring card that I made using this week's CPS sketch for the inspiration:

I flipped the sketch a bit to fit the Ms. Anya image I wanted to use on my card.  I used a variety of ribbon scraps to embellish the Echo Park journaling tag for the focal point rectangle...

I stamped this adorable Miss Anya from The Greeting Farm Rain, Snow, Shine stamp se in black Memento ink on Copic Xpress it card stock and colored her in with a variety of Copic markers.  It's really hard to see, but I used Sakura's black and clear glaze pen to highlight a few parts of her outfit (the boots, raincoat, umbrella, button, hair clip).

Card Details
Stamps: All Occasion Sentiments (Hero Arts); Rain, Snow, Shine (The Greeting Farm)
Ink: Memento black
Card stock: Cosmo Cricket Upcycle patterned paper; Copic Xpress it; Echo Park journaling card
Other: Copic markers; ribbon scraps; Sakura clear glaze pen; sewing machine; Michael satin flowers (inside)

and the inside view...

Have a great day!

Paper Piecing Moxie Fab Challenge

Good morning!

Today's card was a fun one to make.  As I mentioned yesterday, I am loving the new Greeting Farm Anya stamp sets I recently purchased from 7Kids College Fund.  While looking over some of my favorite online challenge blogs, I saw a challenge issued by the Moxie Fab ladies to create a card using the Paper Piecing technique in honor of the new Stamp It magazine coming out soon.  I'm thrilled to have 2 cards coming out in the next Stamp It issue (coming in July!) and one of them was done with the paper piecing technique. (My first cards in a magazine - eek!)

While I can't show that particular card yet - I thought I'd create this one for the challenge to show how easy it is to dress up Miss Anya in some VERY stylish clothes... I think my 10 year old would love an outfit like this one.  I also paper pieced the Hero Arts cupcake image...

Card Details
Stamps: Miss Anya Hats Off (The Greeting Farm); All Occasion Greetings & Happy Birthday Cupcakes (Hero Arts)
Ink: Black Memento; SU crushed curry (inside)
Card stock: Copic Xpress It white; GinaK white; Cosmo Cricket Upcycle dp
Other: Sewing machine; Spellbinder Scallop & plain circle dies; Copic markers; Spica pens; Sakura black & clear glaze pen; Pink Paislee twine; button; corner rounder

and the inside view of this card....

I'm loving these Anya images for all the 'tween' birthday cards that I need to have on hand.  They really are adorable!

If you haven't yet, check out the Moxie Fab Paper Piecing challenge and create a project to share - the deadline to enter is Monday, 3/14 at midnight, so you still have time to play along with us!  There are a ton of links posted which will provide you with LOTS of great inspiration to pull out your scrap patterned paper pieces and scissors to get to work dressing up some of your favorite stamp images.

Have a great rest of your day - thanks for checking in on me today.

Tuesday Trigger: An Idea in Yellow

Good evening!

This afternoon, while blog surfing a bit I saw Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger photo and was inspired to create the card above.  The challenge ends tonight - so, I'm barely on time... whew!  Here's the photo that we were asked to use as the inspiration for our card project...

This photo is so inviting, isn't it?  I'm thrilled with the longer daylight hours, the sounds of the birds chirping in the morning, and the snow melting here in Wisconsin.  The temps are getting a bit warmer too - ahhh... I adore spring!  I created my card thinking of those things using Echo Park's Little Girl paper collection (journaling card & bird sticker) and a retired My Favorite Things stamp set for the sentiments.

Card Details
Stamps: My Favorite Things sentiments
Ink: SU melon mambo
Other: Echo Park Little Girl sticker & journaling card; unknown watercolor paper; SU yellow card stock; Michaels yellow satin bridal flowers; pearls; pink satin ribbon; corner rounder; Tim Holtz distresser

and here's the inside view of this card...

Be sure to check out Moxie Fab's blog post to see all the other designer's projects - you'll get a ton of inspiration and a longing for spring too with all their beautiful cards!
