I love my Cuttlebug Embossing Folders!

Good morning!

Yesterday's trip to Chicago was a profitable one for Isaiah and Ashley - and Brad! The kids got a few Lego sets that they have been busily building since we got home last night. And, Brad picked out an Cycle-Cross Bicycle that he's been eyeing for awhile. We had yummy hotdogs at Chicago's famous
Portillos for lunch after our time at the Lego Discovery Center, which was pretty neat. The kids had a lot of fun and so did Brad and I. Ashley even got to build a Lego duck with one of their Lego Designers who opened his office for visitors. It was a great family day!

Now, on to the cards for today...

Aren't cuttlebug embossing folders the best?! I love mine and use them as often as I can on my projects. The cards I'm sharing today are some that I have on display at Gina's store showing the folders and Koh-i-noor OMS coloring.

For the first card, I inked the folder with versamark before I put the paper inside. Then, I ran it through the machine. After that, I sprinkled the paper with Stampin Up's Iridescent Ice Embossing powder and heat set it. The sparkle with this embossing powder is so fun. The coloring is all done with Koh-i-noor pencils, OMS, and blending stumps, while the shading on all three cards is done with a cotton ball and Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks.

For the next card, I inked the same snowflake folder with Stampin Up's basic gray ink and embossed basic gray cardstock. No sparkle here, just subtle shading. There is liquid applique and glitter on his Santa hat and cuffs - I love using that stuff together. The glitter helps the liquid applique to puff nicely - not so crazy like it can on it's own.

This last card shows how rich some tone on tone colors can be together. I used Caramel ink and caramel paper. I stamped a variety of images from this set to make a beachy scene. Doesn't he look like he's inviting people over for a party at his sand castle? LOL! There is a hint of Crystal Lacquer on this card. I love that stuff too!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great rest of your day!

Sandy Claws

Isn't this little Santa too fun? These two cards are the last of my Christmas cards I made earlier in the week. They are both basically the same, just different card sizes. Which one do you like best? I'm partial to the square card myself.

I used the Musical Notes Embossing Folder with these cards because as I was coloring Mr. Crabs, I was thinking of the song, "Santa Claus is Coming to town."

As you can see, I'm rather attached to my googlie eyes with Gina's animals! heehee...

Cards Details: Sandy Claws (GKD); SU cardstock; Nestabilities; Koh-i-noor pencils, blending stumps, OMS; SU slot punch; ribbons; Stickles; red pom-poms; Metallic Embossing Paste; Cuttlebug & Embossing Folders; Googlie Eyes; Inkssentials White Pen

Today is going to be an exciting one! I'm headed to CHA in Chicago with Gina. We'll be there for the entire weekend. I can't wait to see all the new products that the vendors will be showcasing. I'm hoping to see some awesome demonstrations from many talented artists and designers, too.

But, with all that excitement it's also a little sad. This is the first time I'll be away from my family for several days by myself. I know they'll be fine without me, but it feels pretty strange to be away from them for so long...

Have a great day!

Cool Christmas

Card Details: Sandy Claws (GKD); SU cardstock; Cuttlebug & Embossing folders; Marvy giga punch; paper piercer; ribbons, Koh-i-noor pencils, blending stumps & OMS; stickles; red pom-pom

Here's some more Christmas cards to help cool you off on another warm July day!

Card Details: Let it Snow (GKD); SU cardstock; Marvy giga punch; Copic Markers; Versafine Black ink & Clear Embossing powder; buttons; Stickles

This snowman card is actually a gift card - I haven't gotten a photo of the inside yet. The base of the card is 4/25 x 11, like a standard sized card. I scored it at 4.25 and 8.5 which left an inside flap that I folded inside the card and glued down with ScorPal tape. The pocket is the perfect size for a gift card or folded money.

Card Details: Let it Snow (GKD); SU cardstock; Cuttlebug & embossing folders; EK Success button punch; Marvy giga punch; paper piercer; nestabilities; black stazon; rubbing alchol & reinkers: ballet blue & silver Encore for polished stone; Stickles; SU silver cording & blue gingham ribbon; Metallic CraftT embossing paste

To accent the house, I put stickles over the roof and snow but I don't think my camera picked up the sparkles. The buttons were punched out from my scrap polished stone paper to match.

Have a great day!

Jessica
