On the Water Layouts...

Hi!

I have some more 6x6 layouts to share with you today for my Basic Grey Cupcake scrapbook. I love this size of scrapbooking because all it requires is a photo and an embellishment. I rarely journal on this size pages because there isn't much room and the photos are usually all from the same time frame or theme, so they aren't really necessary.

The first layout is from a trip last spring to Chicago...

It was cold and windy that day but very bright out. When I saw this photo from the trip that Brad took, I thought how cute it would be to have Gina's Seagull stamp sit on the stone ledge looking over the water for some lunch...

I stamped all the images on these pages in black Memento ink and colored with Copics. I used a variety of colored stickles to decorate them as well. Googlie eyes finished them off for me!

Here's a close up of the embellishment for the second layout...

This second layout's photo is from our Mississippi River Boat ride this past summer. The weather was perfect and the clouds really helped me to get some great photos. This is one of my favorite photos of Brad and Ashley together. Do you notice who's 'looking' for eagles through the binoculars?

Did you also notice that in each photo Ashley has a stuffed animal? She is OBSESSED with stuffed animals right now and has been for years. I love that these little photos show off that fact too.

If you're in the mood for some scrapbooking, come and join in on my Splitcoast Challenge for VSBN that runs until Sunday, February 8th. My challenge is to scrapbook your summer photos and use stamps on your pages. When you upload your page, be sure to add the keyword JAN09VSBNP so it can be entered to win a free GinaK Designs stamp valued at 19.95 or less.

I love my Cuttlebug Embossing Folders!

Good morning!

Yesterday's trip to Chicago was a profitable one for Isaiah and Ashley - and Brad! The kids got a few Lego sets that they have been busily building since we got home last night. And, Brad picked out an Cycle-Cross Bicycle that he's been eyeing for awhile. We had yummy hotdogs at Chicago's famous
Portillos for lunch after our time at the Lego Discovery Center, which was pretty neat. The kids had a lot of fun and so did Brad and I. Ashley even got to build a Lego duck with one of their Lego Designers who opened his office for visitors. It was a great family day!

Now, on to the cards for today...

Aren't cuttlebug embossing folders the best?! I love mine and use them as often as I can on my projects. The cards I'm sharing today are some that I have on display at Gina's store showing the folders and Koh-i-noor OMS coloring.

For the first card, I inked the folder with versamark before I put the paper inside. Then, I ran it through the machine. After that, I sprinkled the paper with Stampin Up's Iridescent Ice Embossing powder and heat set it. The sparkle with this embossing powder is so fun. The coloring is all done with Koh-i-noor pencils, OMS, and blending stumps, while the shading on all three cards is done with a cotton ball and Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks.

For the next card, I inked the same snowflake folder with Stampin Up's basic gray ink and embossed basic gray cardstock. No sparkle here, just subtle shading. There is liquid applique and glitter on his Santa hat and cuffs - I love using that stuff together. The glitter helps the liquid applique to puff nicely - not so crazy like it can on it's own.

This last card shows how rich some tone on tone colors can be together. I used Caramel ink and caramel paper. I stamped a variety of images from this set to make a beachy scene. Doesn't he look like he's inviting people over for a party at his sand castle? LOL! There is a hint of Crystal Lacquer on this card. I love that stuff too!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great rest of your day!
