Birthday Birds

Good morning!

I have another Home Tweet Home card to share today. This time I paired the images from Rupa's stamp set with Asela's flowers from her Friendship's Garden stamp set. Aren't they pretty together?

I cut a large Sizzix Scallop circle out of white linen paper and colored everything with Copic markers. For my clouds, I punched out a scallop oval & scallop circle punch and used some Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks and the pompoms that are included in the chalks.

I start towards the bottom of the panel and working my upward and around the images, I alternate between the oval and circle scallop punchouts adding blue chalk where it looks like it needs it.

Here's a closer view of the main image...

Have a great rest of your day!

Happy Bird-day!

A quick note about my next Online class through Stamp TV - the material list has been added to the Classes tab. Here's a preview of the 3 cards that are in the classes this time...

Good morning! It's a gorgeous day here in Stoughton today - full of sunshine and warm temperatures.

We've been enjoying having our windows open during work lately and there are the loudest birds chirping in some nearby trees. What a glorious sound, isn't it? The only time I don't like to hear birds is in the early mornings when I'm trying to sleep... but otherwise - sing away! lol!

The bird on my card today is singing a happy birthday song...

I went with a vintage feeling for my card today - lots of buttons, pearls and soft colors. The images are from Rupa's Home Tweet Home stamp set. Everything was colored with Copics and the sky was shaded with chalks & some scallop punches. I added some stickles for sparkle...

I forgot to get a photo of the inside of the card - oops!

Gina has two new StampTV videos up today - so be sure to pop over there and check them out! She has some awesome projects made with wax paper, a brayer & ink & a cuttlebug embossing folders - interesting combination of products, huh?! It's so cool - and so much fun to watch!

Have a great rest of your day - I hope the sun is shining where you are!!

You're so Tweet...

Hi again!

If you are looking for my GinaK Preview post, be sure to scroll down to the next entry. I have a couple of projects there showcasing two brand new stamp sets - Rupa's Perfectly Polished and Melanie's The Best Things in Life.

My card this afternoon is another one that we'll be making at my upcoming Odorless Mineral Spirit's class at GinaK Designs' store in McFarland on Thurday, January 22nd. For more information and the number to call to sign up, click here. To see the other card we'll be making at the class see my blog post entitled Flowers of Every Hue.

Here's a full view of the card...

We're using GinaK's 120 lb. cardstock for the base and 80lb. for coloring the main image. This stamp set is Rupa's Home Tweet Home and is perfect for so many occasions! I was in the mood for spring - who isn't right about now, right!?

Here's a close up of the inside of the card...

Isn't that adorable all stamped together? One thing that I love about acrylic stamps is that you can build your stamp scene on your acrylic block and then stamp it all at once - talk about a time saver!
Here's the full view of the inside...

Thanks for stopping by and check back in tomorrow for more previews! We'll be showcasing a couple of new stamps from Gina this time around!

Woodgrain Birdhouse

Happy New Year!

Today's card is one of my favorites that I made with Rupa's Home Tweet Home stamp set. It was a quick one because of this beautiful Basic Grey Stella Ruby paper pack that I used to decorate the card front - it's so rich looking! I was also excited with how the bird house turned out - it looks like wood, doesn't it?

I stamped the birdhouse in Black Versafine ink and embossed with Detail Clear embossing powder on GinaK's 80lb. Pure Luxury cardstock - can you tell that's my go-to method of stamping lately? I LOVE this ink and how crisp and clean it always stamps my images. Then, I used a couple of brown Copic markers to color the birdhouse.

After I blended the browns, I took my Copic blender pen and by stroking a few lines here and there on the image, it erased enough of the color (remember, the Copic blender pen really acts as an eraser - or a bleach pen) to make it look like woodgrains.

For all the edges of the cardfront, I used Gina's new Tonic corner punch. I have the Stampin Up Ticket corner punch and love it, but I had to get Gina's punch too because it punches through thick cardstock so well and it's super easy to use. I was able to punch through both layers of the card at the same time with no problem. It also has this little pouch that holds the little punchouts - so no more little pieces of paper flying everywhere when I'm punching! It's those little things that can make us so happy, isn't it? lol!

Have a wonderful rest of your day - and I wish you and your loved ones many blessings for this upcoming year!

Home Tweet Home

Good morning!

There really is no place like home, is there? We had a nice time visiting family over Christmas but it's always so wonderful being back home again....

Today's card is one that makes me think of that. "Home tweet Home"

Rupa's adorable Home Tweet Home stamp set is so much fun to stamp and color. I stamped the image on Gina's 80lb. pure luxury cardstock and colored it in with Copic markers. A Basic Grey small glazed brad highlights the door on the cute little birdhouse.

I used Marvy's Scallop Heart Punches for the sentiment. After punching holes in each scallop of the large black heart, I took my Inkssentials white pen and drew a quick little circle around the punchout. Super quick and easy way to make it look like mini eyelets.

Be sure to be checking in at Gina's blog as she's been issuing challenges and hosting some awesome blog candy to ring in the new year!

Have an awesome rest of your day!

Just a Tweet Little Birdie....

Good morning!

Today's card is a bright and cheerful one! I'm already tired of winter, so I'm loving using springy colors on my projects right now... Unfortunately spring is a LONG way off for us here in the North Pole - I mean Wisconsin... lol!

Rupa's Home Tweet Home stamp set is so fun to color and I'm loving to color a lot lately with my Copic markers. I added some doodlebug colored glitters to the images to help it sparkle because we all know bling is always good!

The papers on this card are from Basic Grey's Euphoria paper pack. Marvy's Blue Scallop oval punch is the perfect sized punch for many of GinaK's sentiments, so in my book that makes it a must have! I also used EK Success swirl punch & rhinestones to add a little more sparkle to the card.

Have a great rest of your day and thanks for taking the time during this busy holiday season to stop by!

Asian Inspired Previews.....

Good morning!

Haven't the preview cards been fantastic so far?! I have been loving what everyone has been showing and hope you have been as inspired as I have gotten checking out everyone's projects!

This morning we're showing 2 more new GinaK Designs stamps set that will be released this Thursday night. The first one that I'm showing today is from Rupa Shevde and is called Home Tweet Home. It is filled with the cutest birdhouses and birds along with some adorable sentiments.

I stamped the birdhouse and bird in Black Versafine ink and Clear embossed and then colored them in with Copics. I added some Doodlebug colored glitter with my Quickie Glue pen... rumor has it that both of these will be added to Gina's online store with this release! Have you seen how we store these little pots of glitter yet? Check out Gina's blog for the photos. You know that it's all about the packaging for us stampers, isn't it?! LOL!

Card Details: Home Tweet Home, Basic Grey Stella Ruby, Bazzil Cardstock, GinaK Pure Luxury cardstock, Fiskars flower border punch, Kaiser Krafts green and white pearls & Clear rhinestones, Copic markers, doodlebug glitter, quickie glue pen, cuttlebug textile folder, holiday metallic rub-on paste, SU ribbons, Marvy super jumbo scallop rectangle punch, paper piercer

The saffron background went through my Cuttlebug with the Textile Embossing folder. Then, I rubbed the green Metallic rub-on paste that you can find in the Holiday Rub-on set. Another fun little detail is that the Kaiser Krafts green pearls that I used on my card were a little too light, so I took my dark green Copic marker to darken them up.

The sentiment was stamped on patterned paper too and embossed with Versafine ink & Detail clear powder again. Then, I punched it out with the Yellow Super Jumbo Scalloped rectangle punch. After that, I turned that rectangle around so that that stamped side of the paper was touching the foam mat and used my Paper Piercer to pierce inside the scallops. When you turn it around, the scallops all have a nice white edge to the piercing since the paper has a white core.

Next up is Gina's stamp set called Tropical Flowers. This is actually a Stamping Cruise stamp set that was given to all the Cruise Gals, so you may have seen some projects done with it floating around on different blogs and even on Splitcoast.

I decided to stamp the flower images in this deep red Versamagic Craft ink and then clear embossed it before the ink dried. I love how rich the colors look when they are embossed. The leaf sprigs were embossed too.

Card Details: Tropical Flowers, Punchy Words, Basic Grey Euphoria paper, GinaK pure luxury cardstock, SU cardstock, K& Co rhinestone, Darice Rhinestone, Kaiser Krafts pearls, SU filagree flower, pink rhinestone, flowers, clear embossing powder, versamagic inks, cuttlebug textile folder, CraftT metallic paste, white craft ink, versafine black ink

This is a 5 1/2" square card. The colors were pulled from this Basic Grey paper pack... I used Stampin Up's Purely Pomegranate, Basic Gray, Mellow Moss and Basic Black. The pink and red rhinestones along the edge of the gray panel happened because I didn't have enough of one color to have 5 in a row... so I did what us stampers do best: improvise! I used a variety of shades of pink & red. It turns out that I really like how they all look together! I love it when that happens, don't you?

** edited to add: GinaK and Melanie are hosting the 12th Day of Christmas challenge over at PaperCraft Planet today too! The challenge today is to use 12 embellishments on your card. I know that it sounds hard, but I just looked over my cards above and they both qualify for the challenge - and I wasn't even really trying to complete the challenge! I actually have a few other cards that I made last night to share on PaperCraft Planet, but I thought I'd share how easy it really can be to do it.

Check out the main page for more details on how to enter your card to win a free GinaK stamp set. Be sure to add the tag: 12day12 to you photo to make sure it ends up in the album for the drawing. **

Now, be sure to check out everyone else's previews if you haven't already. Here's the links for you to follow....

Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow with a preview of Melanie's new stamp set!
