Sweetest Blessings Class Kit

(click on photo for a more detailed view)

Good evening!

Welcome back to  my blog for the last night of hops this week!  I'm thrilled to share the card kit that will be free with the purchase of the Sweetest Blessings stamp set from now until the August 26th - the date of the next release.  I adore this little stamp set and had lots of fun designing and 'decorating' the sweet treats in this stamp set for the cards shown above.

Sweetest Blessings Class Kit Contents
  • GinaK Cardstock - heavy white, chocolate brown, bubblegum pink, passionate pink, and turquoise sea
  • Silver eyelets
  • 1 yard 3/8" pink gingham ribbon
  • Printed instruction sheet with measurements and supplies needed to complete the 5 projects shown in the photo above.

The other 4 class kits that I've shown tonight will be available for purchase separately or in combination with the stamp sets.  Gina has asked me to 'amp' up my class kits to show how many projects can be designed with the contents in the kit.  And I was up for the challenge!  I literally used up as much of the papers as I could and was able to find enough materials to create between 5-6 projects with each kit.

Rather than just calling these new kits a card kit, I like to think of these new kits as class kits because if I was teaching classes at GinaK's store - I would use them in my classes!  The measurements are all provided on the instruction sheet along with all the additional materials needed to complete the projects ... so, the kits are really like a Class in a Bag!  You get to complete the cards at your convenience - 'tweaking' them as you wish while making them at home.  The instruction sheet can also be a handy reference guide because if you like a particular card's sketch, all the measurements are provided there for you to use!

Now, let's look at each project in a bit more detail ...

This first card is a 4 1/4" square card that I designed for a 'masculine' birthday card.  Of course if it's too feminine with the glitter and scallops, they could easily be left off... lol!  I stamped the focal image on turquoise cardstock and colored with copics.  I would have liked to stamp it on white cardstock and pop it up, but I was running low on white paper from the kit and wanted to make sure the I was being true to what could be done with the actual kit contents.

Other: Numbers cuttlebug embossing folder, scallop border punch, 1/4" scor-tape, glue pen, doodlebug glitters, spellbinder nestability plain and scallop square dies, copic markers

Next, is this little gift tag card, all ready to be tied to a gift bag or tucked into a gift box.  It's simply a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock scored in half with a hole punched in the corner for the ribbon to be looped through.  Then, I decorated it with scraps and once again, stamped the image in turquoise paper (again conserving that precious white cardstock! lol!) and colored with copics.  Then some liquid applique and glitter finishes off the cupcake.

There's just something about these colors together that I love!  This card is pretty basic with a favorite 'go-to' sketch of mine that worked well with these little images.  I've stamped them on white paper, colored, trimmed, and then popped up for some dimension.  After it was all put together, I used a glue pen and Doodlebug's colored glitters for some added sparkle.

I really like this next card because this was the first time I tried a tone on tone look like this and really like how it turned out!  It's a pretty simple technique and one that I have to remember to try again soon!  The ribbon treatment was done by running a strip of 1/4" scor-tape along the side and then ruffling the ribbon.  To finish it off, I put a silver eyelet on the top and then left a bit of a tail on the bottom.  Another fun look I have to remember to do again.

Here's a card that similar in the embossing to the one above, except this time I embossed the card front itself.  I put the embossing folder in sideways and embossed only 4" of the front.  To help define and finish off the embossing, I used my Scor-Buddy and scored at the edge of the embossed line and 1/4" from it.  Then, I put a strip of 1/8" Scor-Tape down the groove and sprinkled pink glitter over the tape.  I like the texture this provides without any bulk!

My last card in the kit is another 4 1/4" square card that would be very easy to mass produce. I used a spellbinder label 4 die to trim a scrap piece of pink cardstock for the tag's top as well as the tag on the card above.  Try it sometime - a lot of the label dies would make awesome tag toppers!

I hope you'll have time to play along with me and add your project to the StampTV gallery this weekend!

And, finally before I let you go - have you seen this yet?!

Whoohoo - a COUPON!  It may be a great opportunity to stock up on some class kits, don't you think?!  *hint, hint!*  lol!  Happy shopping!

Feel the Magic Class Kit

(click on photo for a more detailed view)

Good evening!

Today is day 3 of the Blast from the Past GinaK Blog hop event!  Tonight several designers are joining together to share projects designed with some favorite stamp sets that may not have been featured for awhile on our blogs.  I have another class card kit to share that I designed for Alicia's Feel the Magic stamp set - just in time to start thinking about Halloween!

Feel the Magic Class Kit Contents:
  • GinaK Cardstock - Heavy white, vibrant violet, dandelion yellow, sweet mango, and smokey slate
  • Silver Eyelets
  • 1 yard Vibrant Violet organdy ribbon
  • Instruction sheet with measurements and supply list to complete the 5 projects shown in the photo above
Now, let's take a look at each project in a bit more detail...

This first card is a quick and simple one that has lots of texture due to the embossing folders. If you don't have the folders I used, other folders could be easily swapped out.  The pumpkin was colored with copics and then stardust stickles were added to the eyes and mouth for some added sparkle.

Other: seeing spots & candy cane embossing folders, corner rounder, copic markers,  silver eyelets, 1/4" hole punch & eyelet setter, stardust stickles, scallop border punch, paper piercer, spellbinder long rectangle die

*********

The witch image is so adorable, but rather large so you can see on this card that I just used a portion of the image.  It's best to stamp the image on paper and then trim or cut with a die to make sure you get the exact section of the image that you want. The sentiment was stamped on a square die cut as well and tucked under the bow to make a 'faux' tag.

*********

Here's another card with a partial portion of the image - this time it's even smaller.  I think she's so cute peeking out her 'window.'  More textures with the embossing folders - so there's no need for patterned paper!

*********

This last card shows how easy it is to create your own patterned paper by stamping the pumpkin repeatedly on cardstock in versamark ink and embossing with clear embossing powder for a subtle shine.  The quick and easy layout makes this an easy card to mass produce.

And, the final project is this tag or bookmark that would be a fun alternative to handing out candy to your kid's classmates or friends.  I choose to stamp the image in purple ink, so there was no need to color it but it could easily be stamped in black ink and handed out with a little box of crayons as a party favor, etc.  After all, who doesn't love a new box of crayons - right?!

Down on the Farm Class Kit

(click on photo for a more detailed view)

Welcome back to GinaK's Blast from the Past blog hop week!  While many of the other designers are sharing stamp sets designed by Theresa and Rupa, I'm sharing another card kit with you that I designed for the adorable Down on the Farm stamp set.  It's one of the first GinaK stamp set I purchased and still one of my favorites!

The Down on the Farm Class kit includes:
  • GinaK cardstock - heavy white, smokey slate, bubblegum pink, ocean mist, creme de menthe
  • Silver eyelets
  • 1 yard 5/8" pink gingham ribbon
  • Printed instruction sheet with measurements to complete the 5 projects shown in photo above
Now that those details are out of the way, let's look at each project in a bit more detail...

First up, is the sheep tag that would be perfect for a card front for a little birthday boy.  It could also work as a tag for a gift bag, by punching a hole at the top of the tag and threading some string through it and tied to the gift bag's handle.  I love the numbers cuttlebug folder as I always think of 'counting sheep' when I see an image of a lamb.

(click on photo for a more detailed view)
Tag Details
Stamps: Down on the Farm (GKD)
Ink: Black Memento
Cardstock: GinaK - white, smokey slate, ocean mist, creme de menthe, bubblegum
Other: Copic markers, liquid applique, clear glitter, heat tool, corner rounder,  silver eyelets, scallop square nestability

The sheep image in all my samples was colored a bit with copic markers.  To add a fluffy feel to the sheep, I applied liquid applique to the wool section and sprinkled with clear glitter before heating it with a heat tool.  The glitter helps the applique to puff up nicely without getting too crazy as well as adds some sparkle - which is always fun. To see Gina's video on how to use liquid applique, please check out her video here.
*************

This next card is pretty basic, so the emphasis is on this adorable little piggy.  I rounded a couple of corners and used the seeing spots embossing folder to help reinforce the 'roundness' of the little birthday pig.

(click on photo for a more detailed view)
Stamps: Down on the Farm (GKD)
Ink: Black Memento
Cardstock: GinaK - white, smokey slate, creme de menthe, bubble gum pink, ocean mist
Other: Seeing spots cuttlebug embossing folder, corner rounder, 1/4" hole punch & eyelet setter, silver eyelets, copic markers, stardust stickles

********

The next card is my favorite of this bunch - look at how cute those animals are peeking out their 'windows'!  I stamped the images on white cardstock and used a 1 3/8" square punch to punch out the section of the image that I wanted to show.

(click on photo for a more detailed view)
Stamps: Down on the Farm
Ink: Black Memento
Cardstock: GinaK - white, smokey slate, creme de menthe, bubble gum pink, ocean mist
Other: 1 3/8" and 1 1/2"square punches, pink gingham ribbon, scoring tool, liquid applique, clear glitter, copic markers, silver eyelets, 1/4" hole punch & eyelet setter

***********

This little cow card cracks me up - that sentiment is too funny, isn't it?  This card could easily be made for all the other images as well, as the sketch is generic enough to work with all the farm animals in this set.

(click on photo for a more detailed view)
Stamps: Down on the Farm
Ink: Black Memento
Cardstock: GinaK - white, black, bubblegum pink, creme de menthe
Other: corner rounder, spellbinder plain and petite scallop circle dies, paper piercer, copic markers, stardust stickles, silver eyelets, 1/4" hole punch & eyelet setter, pink gingham ribbon

**********

Last, but certainly not least is this floral wheelbarrow card that I decided to leave sentiment free, so that it could be used for any occasion.  The focal image was stamped over and over on the green cardstock in Versamark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then, I used some green scraps to create a bit of grass for the stamped wheelbarrow, so that it didn't look like it was 'floating' off the paper.
