Christmas Star Book

Good morning!

Next week at GinaK Designs' store in McFarland, I'll be teaching a new mini scrapbook class called the Star Book. These are really fun and easy to make and are an awesome way to display some of your favorite photos. My book is a 7 point star - so I used 7 photos because I wanted to include several stamped images along with my photos.

I've made a couple different books to have on display at the store. Today, I'm sharing my Christmas one. These photos are of my family from this past Christmas.

I used 3 different Christmas Stamp sets of Gina's to decorate my book: Spirit of Christmas, Sandy Claws, and Got Snow along with lots of 3-D embellishments. Everything is colored with Koh-i-noor pencils, OMS, and blending stumps.
To decorate the snow, I used Liquid Applique and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter before I heat set it. The glitter helps the liquid applique to puff nicely and adds such an awesome sparkle to it!
These books are meant to be displayed open, so I used lots of buttons and pearls. It was so fun not having to worry about the bulkiness of all the elements - how freeing!
At each point of the star, I added Stampin Up's round tab punch. The snowflakes are punched out of white Fuzzy Flock paper I bought at my local Scrapbooking store years ago. I never saw the name of it and now they don't carry it anymore. I'm pretty sad about that because it's the perfect thickness for punching through. The punches are EK Success medium paper shapers.

I also used Stampin Up's Christmas Designer paper that they offered in the Holiday mini last year. I can't remember it's name though...
For the scallop photo mats, I used Nestabilities - these dies are so amazing. I love how quick and easy it is to cut out photo mats with them in my Cuttlebug.

I found the directions to the Star Book quite awhile ago on Kristina Werner's blog. She graciously shared them with us and I'd love to share them with you if you don't have them yet. If you'd like the file, let me know!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Saturday!
Jessica

Whaaaaaaaaaaa! I wanna come to your class! Your star books are AMAZING! This one is soooo cool, and the one you showed me at the class in Milwaukee was unbelievable... I love all of the embellishments you use.... so perfect.

I'm already trying to think of a reason to travel back up north just so I can have a reason to stop in and take a class!
