On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer...

and Vixen...

Good evening! Aren't these images beautiful? I had so much fun playing with them to make this card a few weeks ago. I didn't have a chance to share this card earlier, but I made it for Melissa Cash's sketch challenge on StampTV.

Card Details
Stamps: Holiday Cheer, Holiday Greetings
Paper: GinaK White & Black; DCWV patterned paper from the Sweet Stack
Ink: Memento Markers
Other: Nestabilities, Stardust Sakura Glitter pens, SU ribbon, button

This card went together rather quickly because the main patterned paper square (the chocolate layer) is actually one piece of paper - the white scallop and designs are all part of the cardstock. The trees were stamped once with Memento markers and then stamped off slightly to the right to produce more of a forest look.

Here's the inside...

I wish I wouldn't have stamped the sentiment in the trees... but, live and learn, right?

See you tomorrow night for another blog hop event. We'll be featuring Asela Hopkin's First Christmas stamp set. I'll also have another Class Kit card project that will be available then too. The Festive Frame Card Kit that I shared a few days ago, is available for purchase online HERE.

StampTV Color Challenge Card

Happy Friday!

I don't know about you, but I was SO IMPRESSED with all of the cards everyone made and shared for the blog hop a few days ago!! It was looking quite a bit like Christmas on lots of blogs and over on StampTV, wasn't it? To see all the cards from the blog hop that have been added to the StampTV gallery so far, click on this link HERE.

I made another card with my sketch and this time made it a quick and simple card using Sue's color challenge colors she shared on Monday: purple, gold, and black. To see more information about these two different challenges going on this week over on StampTV, see these two discussions: Monday's Color Challenge and Thursday's Sketch Challenge.

The photo above shows the sparkle and sheen of the two DCWV purple pieces of cardstock that I used. It's a really 'flashy' card in person - lol!

I hope you'll be able to get some stamping in this weekend to join in on our weekly challenges. Entering our daily challenges is a GREAT way to learn and experiment with new ideas & products as well as a chance to earn free stamps! It's a win-win proposition, don't you think?

Have a great weekend!
Jessica

STV Scrapbook Challenge Card!

Yes, you read my title correctly - I used a sketch that Theresa shared over in our StampTV Scrapbook Challenge on Tuesday and liked it so much that I decided to make a card out of it! To see the details of Theresa's challenge, check out her discussion HERE.

Just look at all these fun patterned papers that work perfectly with Gina's Gingerbread House image from the Holiday Cheer stamp set found exclusively in her Holiday Cheer StampTV kit ...

Don't you just want to lick the paper and/or the candy house? lol! When I taught 2nd & 3rd grade every Christmas for our class party we'd make gingerbread houses together. It was so fun to see the students creativity and then I'd get to send them home on a suger high! lol! Those poor parents... heehee...

To make the images shine even more and coordinate with the glittery paper, after I colored the image, I dabbed Versamark over the entire panel. Sprinkled with SU's Iridescent Ice embossing powder and zapped with my heat tool and it became just as sparkly as the patterned papers I used. This technique is one of my favorites because they glittery embossing powder doesn't flake off or smear like glitter or stickles can tend to do.

Here's the inside - I was thinking of the Reindeer delivering Christmas presents while the little ones have 'sugar plums dancing in their heads'... you know the book, right?

Sweet dreams and treats, everyone!
Jessica

Lemonade Wishes...

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Today's card is a summery one - filled with bright shades of yellow... I wish we had the bright yellow sun shining outside today! Hopefully the rain will be moving through soon - my daughter is dying to go to the zoo! It's the first thing she wanted to do once school was out.

This card is one I made a while ago following a couple of StampTV challenges: color and sketch. All the challenges are archived, so you can reference them if you are in need of some inspiration. I'm the hostess for this week's sketch challenge - I'll share the card and sketch tomorrow here on my blog.

Have you had a chance to play along with our challenges? We have 5 new challenges each week - and the winners all receive a free stamp set! Since the new release is right around the corner, I'm sure everyone would love to win a free GinaK stamp set. Jump in and play along with us - the talent is amazing over on StampTV!!

The stamps I used on my card are from GinaK's You are My Sunshine and Simple Pleasures sets.

Be sure to check out Gina's Blog - she's starting to share one stamp image from each new Release stamp set!! I've been having so much fun stamping with the new sets and can't wait to share some of my projects with everyone!!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sketch Challenge for StampTV

Good morning!

I'm the hostess for the StampTV sketch challenge this week and wanted to share my project with you this morning on my blog. I'll share the other card I made with my sketch tomorrow - but I already showed it in the challenge thread that you can find here.

I pulled out Basic Grey's Offbeat paper pack & embellishments to make this birthday card. I was TRYING to make it masculine... do you think I pulled it off? I have such a hard time with masculine cards because a card just doesn't feel finished unless it has ribbon, buttons & pierced scallops somewhere on it! lol!

Here's a closeup of the golf bag paper pieced with that lovely Basic Grey paper...

I stamped the golf bag from Rupa's King of the Grill stamp set 3 times in Black Versafine ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. A few copic markers helped to define the layers and details. Then, I took my detail scissors and cut each layer out.

The 'happy birthday!' sentiment comes from GinaK's Tag, You're it! stamp set. Then, I took some white grosgrain ribbon, the 'dad' sentiment from Rupa's King of the Grill and my black Stazon ink pad and made my own specialized ribbon! I used the same ribbon for the inside...

To help seal the white ribbon that I taped across the front corner of the card, I attached another piece of Offbeat paper. It helps to finish the card off too. Here's the full view of the inside...

I hope you can join us for the challenge - it runs until next Thursday.

Have a great day!
Jessica
