Hedgehog Holiday Wishes

Good morning!

Most of you are aware that I'm on the PaperCraft Planet Designs team. Each week, the Senior design team members upload cards to our special monthly theme album. December's album theme is appropriately enough for this season, Holiday. Last Tuesday, we had our first snowday of the year, so I had some extra time to make some cards up for the album.

I recently picked up this adorable Penny Black Holiday stamp set. The images are all adorable and were so much fun to play with! These are the two cards I shared on Paper Craft Planet earlier this week, but I made several more with the other images in the Clear stamp set and will be sharing them thoroughout the month of December.

Each image was stamped in Versafine Black ink and embossed with Stampin Up's Irridescent Ice embossing powder because I wanted the images to really sparkle. I stamped on GinaK's 80 lb. Pure Luxury cardstock and colored them in with Copic Markers. To highlight a few areas, I used Sakura's Glue pen and Doodlebug's colored glitters.

This close up view shows some of the details that I'll talk about in a little more detail.

I cut out the hedgehog and popped him up over a Classic Oval Nestability shape that was embossed with the snowflake cuttlebug folder. Then that was layered over a Scalloped Classic Oval that was sanded with Tim Holtz's sanding block to show off the white core of the K&Co. paper.

The snowflakes are SU's snowflurries and the yellow paper on the bottom of the card was cut & embossed with a Martha Stewart Snowflake border punch. I sanded it lightly with the Tim Holtz sander again and put mini red rhinestones in the centers.

Finally, the sentiment was stamped, embossed, and punched out with Marvy's Yellow (super jumbo) scallop circle paper punch. Then, using the Making Memories paper piercer, I pierced each scallop. This paper piercer is the best because of the super fine point of the piercer. I LOVE it and use it on almost every card I make!

And, here's one more closer view of the main image - can you see the sparkle the glitter adds? You should be able to click on the photos to make it larger for an even closer look...

Since blogger isn't cooperating very well with me right now and I'm running out of time, I'll share the photos and details of the other card tomorrow. I love the colors and how the bow ended up making the card look like a gift... but, more of that tomorrow...

Have a great rest of your day and thanks for stopping by!
Jessica
