Sketch Saturday: Little Duck

Good morning!

Starting today, I will be hosting the Sketch Saturday Challenge every other week over on PaperCraft Planet and would love to invite you to join me!  In honor of Easter this weekend, I've pulled out a favorite card of mine that I made a few weeks ago with Rupa Shevde's Spring Has Sprung stamp set... don't you just LOVE that duck!?

Here's the sketch of my card ...

Isn't that fun?  Susanna made this sketch for me and I just love it's whimsical style!  It will be fun seeing everyone's interpretation of the sketch, won't it?  To participate, please be sure to add your card to the PaperCraft Planet gallery with the tag pcpsk040310 so we can find it.

Here's a closer view of my focal image... (remember in sketches, the symbols are just that - symbols.  Feel free to use whatever images and embellishments you would like in its place)

Card Details
Stamps: Spring Has Sprung
Cardstock: GinaK; white; Cosmo Cricket Garden Girl
Ink: Memento Cocoa; Vivid aqua
Other: Fun Foam; Nestability dies; Cuttlebug flower die; buttons; hemp; GinaK ribbon; Corner rounder, Copics

and the inside view...

I hope you'll have a chance to play along with us!  You can find the Sketch discussion over on PaperCraft Planet HERE.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Spring Mushrooms

Good afternoon!

Spring is in the air and the March winds are blowing today in Madison!  The sun is shining so beautifully that it's rather deceiving when you step outside because the temperatures have dropped off a bit.  Spring just makes me happy - even when the temps are bit chillier because we know that winter is over and sooner rather than later, it's going to be warm again!

My card today was made with those thoughts in mind, and can I just say how happy I was that I had this Cosmo Cricket paper that matched??  I love little things like that !  lol!

Card Details
Cardstock: GinaK; Cosmo Cricket Earth Love
Ink: Cocoa Memento and Vivid Tuscan Tan
Other: Big Scallop Rectangle nestabilities; Rectangle Nestabilities; Copics; Spica pens; dauber; ribbons; button; Eyelets; Corner rounder; twine

Thanks for checking on me today!

Have a wonderful rest of your day ~

Smile, little friend!

Hi!

Today's card is one that I made with Rupa Shevde's Spring Has Sprung stamp set - these images are just adorable aren't they?

Card Details
Stamps: Spring Has Sprung
Cardstock: GinaK; white; Cosmo Cricket Garden Girl
Ink: Memento Cocoa; Vivid aqua
Other: Fun Foam; Nestability dies; Cuttlebug flower die; buttons; hemp; GinaK ribbon; Corner rounder, Copics

I shared the photo above so you could see the dimension that the Fun Foam die cuts give the card - isn't that fun?  This card just made me smile the whole time I was working on it and I have to say I love how it turned out.  Don't you love it when a card just 'works' - we all know that doesn't always happen... lol!

I went home a bit early from work today because I'm not feeling the best.  Let's hope it's a quick little bug because I don't like feeling crummy when the weather is so beautiful and sunny outside!  Besides, I have lots of stamps that need some attention... *wink!*

Have a great rest of your day and thanks for checking in on me today!

Day 4 Previews: Nana's Needlework

Good evening!

Welcome to our last night of previews for the new March stamp sets that will be released tomorrow night after the big party over on StampTV!  The first stamp sets that I have samples for tonight were both designed by Nina Brackett.  They are called Nana's Needlework and the companion sentiment set called Nana's Sentiments.

My first card shows the large doily image, which I made pop by using the Emboss Resist Technique.  I stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with White embossing powder on patterned paper and then sponged Vivid's Aqua ink over it to really make the embossed image pop...

Card Details (card size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/4")
Stamps: Nana's Needlework; Nana's Sentiments
Card stock: GinaK white, black; DCWV Linen Closet
Ink: Versamark; Vivid; Versafine
Other: embossing powder; border punch, dauber, buttons, jute, nestability tag die

I have one more card that I wanted to share with Nina's sets because I just adore this button border that she included in her set.  Isn't it cute as a frame for her knitting basket?

Card Details
Stamps: Nana's Sentiments; Nana's Needlework
Card stock: GinaK white, black; Basic Grey Lily Kate patterned
Ink: Versafine black
Other: Detail clear embossing powder; Copics; Marvy Super jumbo scallop heart punch; piercer; safety pin

Of course it would be better if I had sewed on my card, but I'm still having issues with my sewing machine.  The tension on the bobbin is all wonky, so I went rather plain and simple with this card so that the images would take centerstage!

The companion sentiment set will retail for $12.95.  The stitching and fonts are so delicate - this inside shows that better than my first card...

*********
Last by certainly not least is the adorable stamp set from Rupa Shevde called Spring Has Sprung and I am IN LOVE with this little duckie....

Seriously, we all gasped at how adorable this little duck is when the stamp set was shown to us at work!  Rupa did an amazing job on this set - like always, of course!

Card stock: GinaK soft sand, ocean mist, white; Cosmo Cricket Material Girl and Garden Variety
Ink: Cocoa memento
Other: Copics, Nestability tag die; clip; GinaK ribbon and button; Standard Oval & Big Scallop Oval nestability dies

I couldn't resist sharing one more card with Rupa's Spring Has Sprung set tonight too - look at these adorable toadstools (or are they mushrooms?)...

It went well with this Cosmo Cricket patterned paper, I think ....
