Lord of the Season blog hop!

Happy Friday!

Tonight we're showcasing Nina Brackett's gorgeous Lord of the Season stamp set in another GinaK blog hop! I adore this set of Nina's because the images are so fun to color - and the sentiments, well they're some of my favorites too!

(you can click on any photo to see a larger view)

My second card uses a partial image of Nina's - I just inked the bottom of one of her topiaries... isn't it pretty as a flower pot?

You can see that I had some fun with Nestabilities Pierceability dies on this card. I haven't used them before and this patterned seemed to work well with Nina's elegant images.

For even more ideas with Nina Brackett's Lord of the Season stamp set, visit her blog as well as the GinaK Idea Center here: Lord of the Season . Both Nina and Gina will be hosting a giveaway of this beautiful stamp set on their blogs tonight too - so be sure to leave a comment on their sites to be entered for a chance to win!

Fall Topiary

Good morning!

It's Saturday morning and my daughter Ashley and I are watching cartoons in our jammies in my bed... how fun is that? Remember the days when cartoons were only on TV Saturday mornings? I used to love getting up early on Saturdays to watch cartoons but now, they're on 24/7 ... especially at my house! lol!

She is excited because she gets to spend the night tonight at my aunt's house (who is like a Grandma to her) which may mean that Brad and I will get to have a date tonight. Right now the boys are in the living room with a HUGE pile of Legos trying to organize and sort the thousands of pieces Isaiah has in his collection. (Now, you know why we girls are hanging out/hiding in the bedroom! lol!)

My card today is one that I made with Nina's beautiful new Lord of the Season stamp set. I LOVE her topiary images - this one is my favorite!

I used GinaK's new soft yellow cardstock and embossed it with this beautiful Cuttlebug folder. I use the Big Shot and have found that I can get an amazingly deep embossed look if I use the thin white tab (the shim that's included in the basic cutting mat) when I run it through my machine.

For even more inspiration and ideas with Nina's Lord of the Season stamp set, check out the Idea Center discussion here: Lord of the Season. You can follow the links in the discussion to see everyone's cards in our StampTV gallery there too.

It's going to be a great day! I was able to finish up my job list yesterday and even got several cards made for some upcoming blog hops. I'm looking forward to some more time in my stamping room this afternoon playing - I mean 'working!' *wink*

Have a great rest of your Saturday!
Jessica

Day 2 Previews: Melanie and Nina's sets!

Good evening!

My first card was made with Melanie's new Hip to be Square stamp set. It's a large card - 5 1/2" square because Melanie's large grid stamp makes such a great focal image! I decided to stamp the squares on some patterned paper and punched out and layered to look like presents. The sentiment is from Theresa's A Very Merry Christmas set.

My next project is one that Ashley claimed for her own as soon as she saw it...

Isn't that fun? I used the clear box that GinaK's Assortment ribbons will be sold in for this Halloween treat container.

There are lots of possibilities with Melanie's new set - and I'm sure she has a thousand ideas to share with us for it!

Next up is another beautiful set from Nina Brackett called Lord of the Season. The images in her set are so much fun to color and embellish... I really had a hard time putting this set away once I got started with it.

My first project that I'm sharing tonight is a gift card holder ...

It seems that each Christmas I end up giving a lot of gift cards to friends and family - so this little die cut box is a perfect holder! In fact, I've made several of these this month with the different stamp sets being released - so look for some more samples during the Release party on Thursday night! I designed a gift card envelope that fits with the box, but decided not to make one for this set because this card seemed to match so well.

Isn't that an adorable tree? It's actually a topiary that I cut apart since that was too large of an image for my box. This image also has some ornaments on the tree, but since I used Flower Soft, the fluffy texture hid the details of the original image.

Finally, here's a card showing Nina's beautiful artwork...

Isn't that a pretty image? It's so delicate and pretty and was really fun to color.

Now, head over to GinaK's blog to add your comment to her blog entry for a chance to win the new stamp sets being previewed tonight our blogs!
