Celebrate with the Stars!

Good afternoon!

I have a fun card I made a while ago playing with Gina's new free with Three stamp set called Lazy Days of Summer. The stars in the stamp set all coordinate with the Marvy Paper punches Gina carries in her store as well as a couple of the Star Nestability Dies. For my card today, I used the two smallest Star Nestability dies to make a pocket for the front of my card.

I stamped the stars in some Versamagic Chalk inks and embellished the outside rims of the stars with Crystal lacquer. I sprinkle the lacquer with Clear Glitter and set aside to dry overnight. The pocket was made with a Sizzix die.

Here's little different view of the front of the card so you could see the sparkle on the stars. The front of the card was embossed with a Sizzix Texture plate...

We've had some exciting things going on over at StampTV - have you heard the news yet? Check out Gina's Blog here and this video to hear about Gina's new CenterStage Spotlight Design Team! We're thrilled to have such a talented group of ladies join us for the next release!

Summer Water Fun!

Good morning!

Judging from the reactions of everyone to the new Eclectic Summer StampTV kit - you all are loving it as much as I am! Here's another couple of cards that I made for the Release party last week - the first one is made with the new Free with Three Lazy Days of Summer stamp set and the next one is with the Eclectic Summer kit.

I used Basic Grey's LimeRickey papers along with Gina's new In the Navy cardstock. The image was stamped on Gina's Pure Luxury cardstock in Memento black ink and colored with a combination of Copics and then Sakura Glitter pens. After I assembled the card all together, I applied a thick layer of Crystal Lacquer to the entire image and set aside to dry overnight.

Here's a close up so you can see the shine...

Next, I pulled out an old favorite technique called Polished Stone and that adorable fish from the Eclectic Summer kit...

Isn't that fun? And, talk about a quick card! No coloring at all on this card! I used Ranger's Alcohol inks for the polished stone - I'm sorry I don't remember which ones right off the top of my head right now. After the polished stone dried on the glossy cardstock, I stamped the fish in Black Stazon.

To mimic the water's waves, I embossed the vellum with the Cuttlebug swirl folder and applied adhesive to the center of the mat so that the main image would hide the glue. I used Silver cording to wrap around the image and tied the bow behind it so I wouldn't cover up any of those fun fish! The sentiment is also from the Eclectic Summer kit... I adore all the sayings in this set!!

Here's a close up of the fish so you can see the polished stone a little better...

Thanks for stopping by today - have a great day!

Day 4: Ribbons and Free Stamp of the Month!

Welcome to the final day of previews for GinaK's May release! Rest up - the party is tonight over in her Forum on Splitcoast Stampers. Unfortunately I won't be able to be there as my kids have their end of the year school program, but I know there will be lots of fun chatter and card samples to see! I've made several more cards that I was going to share during the release party, but I'll probably end up saving them and sharing them over the next week on my blog and over at StampTV.

My first couple of cards today are showing off Gina's new Free with Three stamp set called Lazy Days of Summer. I LOVE each of the images in this set and know you will too! I couldn't stop playing with this set... and can't wait to get it inky again soon! lol!

I used some Basic Grey Bittersweet papers and embellishments for this card along with a couple of Petaloo flowers. The images were stamped on White linen cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder and then colored with Copic markers. I added some Crystal Lacquer and Diamond stickles to the ice cream for some added sparkle.

Here's the inside view...

Next up is an adorable sand bucket that is begged to be colored and blinged up a little...

Here's a close up view of the sparkle the image has because after coloring it with Copic markers, I highlighted the image with some Sakura Glitter pens and Crystal Lacquer...

Isn't that fun? I used Basic Grey's Lime Rickey patterned papers - which Gina will be adding to her online store later tonight. She has included some of these fun papers in her new StampTV Eclectic Summer kit too! The cardbase is her new In the Navy cardstock... I LOVE it!

Next up is another card showing off another few images from the Lazy Days of Summer stamp set along with another new GinaK stamp set called Ribbon Stripes. The sentiments are from Nina's new Special Father stamp set...

I stamped the little stars from the Ribbon Stripes set on a sheet of Summer Fabrics digital paper printed out an GinaK Pure Luxury 80lb. white cardstock in Red Ladybug Memento ink. Then, using my dauber and the Antique Linen Distress ink, I shabbied it up.

The stars (from the Lazy Days of Summer) were stamped in the same red ink and punched out with the Blue and Yellow Marvy star punches. Then, I shaded them with the distress ink too. For an even more home-made feel, I took my Rich Cocoa Memento marker and traced along the outer edge of the star and added a few dots and stitch marks here and there all around the stars.

The red cardstock is Gina's gorgeous new Rocket Red paper and I paired it with her Chocolate Kiss cardstock - I love this color scheme!

Here's the links to everyone who is showing off projects with these two stamp sets this morning...

Have a great rest of your day and enjoy all the eyecandy this morning!
