TCM Monthly blog hop: Christmas theme

Hi there!

I'm joining my fellow designers in our monthly blog hop today!  If you've been following along on the hop and arrived here from Jennie's blog, you're right on track.  If not, please consider starting at TCM's store blog for all the information about today's event as well as some specials Lisa is having for the next couple of weeks!

We're celebrating Christmas this month, so I thought I'd share a couple of cards today that I made using our newest stamp sets from our last release.  My first card uses the adorable Under the Tree

My next card uses the new Holiday Poinsettia. I went super clean and simple with this one.  I stamped the image along with the sentiment inside the frame on vellum and then embossed it with a grid line impression plate (from PaperTrey Ink).  Then, I adhered it the blue card front with a couple of white brads.  Then, I added some matching ruffle ribbon (paper and ribbon from Stampin Up) and wrapped some platinum shimmer baker's twine to hide the edge of the ribbon.

I hope this is flat enough for the postage to remain the same if I decide to mail it. Those postal rules are getting crazier and crazier, aren't they!?

Next up on the hop is Jinny!

Happy hopping and don't forget to check out TCM's store blog for the fun Fall Sale going on for a couple of weeks!

Jessica

Love both of your cards. The first one is adorable and love the traditional Christmas colors. And I've never stamped on velum but love the effect. Must give it a try.

Both cards well done (as usual!) I especially like the second card. The delicate green color paired with the pointsettia sentiment stamp is so appealing to me.

I tend to forget to pull out the vellum in my craft stash and when I see lovely projects like yours I kick myself for not thinking of it sooner. Whata STUNNING card using just the basic image ... which I love as I have absolutely NO coloring talents.
