July Preview Day 3: My Card Kit!

I'm so excited to share my next Card Kit with you tonight during our preview week!  Gina has designed a lovely new stamp set called Seeds of Kindness that I was able to use to design these three cards shown above.  During the first month of this stamp set's release, my card kit (valued at $9.95) is included for free with every purchase of the Seeds of Kindness stamp set.

This kit includes 5 sheets of GinaK's Pure Luxury cardstock, as you can see from the photos.
  • Chocolate Brown
  • Sweet Corn
  • Little Boy Blue
  • Green Apple
  • Layering Weight Ivory
It also includes silver brads along with the written directions and measurements for each of the cards.  Let's take a closer look at each of them so you can see some of the details a bit better...

I choose to color my card kit cards with Koh-i-noor colored pencils, odorless mineral spirits, and blending stumps since I wanted a soft look with lots of flexibility with shading.  Sometimes Copic markers can be intimidating on certain images to me, so I like to turn to my pencils.  Using a soft white eraser, you can actually soften the pencils a bit more and even erase when you go out of the lines!

However, I did color one card with Copic markers and thought I'd share that sample with you tonight as well, just to see another alternative look to one of the cards shown in the kit photo:

Can you see the shine of the crystal lacquer on the potted plants?  Love that- I think it makes them look like epoxy stickers!

Next up, is Nina Brackett's beautiful new stamp set called Hugs and Prayers.  I know that once you see the entire stamp set, you are going to love the images and sentiments Nina included in her set because of all the techniques you'll be able to do with them - not to mention because they are gorgeous!

I choose to use the violet image from the Seeds of Kindness stamp set along with a butterfly and few sentiments from Nina's Hugs and Prayers set.

I really like how you colored the images with colored pencils. I've yet to try that technique but just today even looked at getting some prisma colored pencils (didn't realize how pricey colored pencils could be!) ;)

Beautiful job on the cards!
