A Very Merry Christmas Blog Hop

(click on any of my photos for a larger view)

Welcome to tonight's blog hop!

I have been anxious to share my water-coloring cards with you on my blog - so I'm excited that tonight is the night! I used the same basic technique on all three of my cards and decided to keep the cards themselves simple so the images take center stage.

Here's the inside of this card - it's same basic layout that I did with all my cards tonight ...

Here's a closer look at the water coloring on the inside...

The images are watercolored on GinaK's Ivory cardstock after being embossed with Versamark and Vanilla embossing powder. I used a variety of Stampin Up and Memento markers along with my Niji waterbrush to do the water coloring.

After I finished my first card, I wanted to see what it would look like to watercolor on GinaK's Soft Sand cardstock - so using all the same materials as the ivory card, I made this card. And, I LOVED the end result - it's kind of rustic, don't you think?

When I am making Christmas cards, it's all about elegance and simplicity because of the mass amount of cards I need to make, So, rather than focusing on a ton of embellishments or layers, I find myself drawn to embossing & glitter (like this DCWV glitter paper) to make a statement without all the fuss.

I couldn't stop with those cards because I was having too much fun water coloring - so I made this little 4 1/2" square card...

As you can see from my cards tonight - Theresa's images are so beautiful they don't really need any other embellishments because they are so pretty on their own! But, you know me - I can't really do clean and simple very well... so, I pulled out some ribbons, gold brads, and some ivory sateen flowers to help my cards not appear naked to me! lol!

Stunning cards. The inside is just as pretty as the outside! I wish I would do more with the insides of my cards but by the time I get the outside done it's time to do something else. One of these days. But you've done an amazing job!
