Hip to be Square Blog Hop

(feel free to click on all my photos for a larger view)

Good evening!

Tonight we are showcasing Melanie's newest GinaK stamp set: Hip to be Square. I can't wait to see what all the designers have for us tonight! This stamp set has a lot of potential - I've been loving with Melanie has been sharing on her blog with it so far!!

My first card is a rather simple one - showing an obvious way to use the grid stamp... as a window, looking outside at a scene (which I made with GinaK's Just me and My dad image). I accordian folded a shade to decorate it (scoring every 1/2").

Here's a closer look at the focal image so you can see some of the glitter from the Stardust pens...

For the inside, I used some coordinating sentiments from GinaK's Kindred Greetings for Him as well as the star image from Melanie's Hip to be Square set...

Perfect card to set aside for Father's Day, I think - don't you?

Next up is another way to use the grid image - this time I used it as a mini quilt or decoration.

Using some Girl Friday Cosmo Cricket papers, I paper pieced everything and then ran it through my Big Shot with a Quickutz embossing folder. Then, I sponged it with Vivid's Tuscan Tan ink to show off the embossing a bit better.

Here's a look at the inside - as you can see I used the zig zag image for some faux sewing. The sentiment is from Kindred Greetings for Him again.
