Inspiration Mosaic Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog! We are showcasing Melanie's versatile new stamp set tonight! I'm thrilled to be joining in on the hop and have two very different cards to show you tonight. The links to the other Designer's blogs are at the bottom of my post.

My first card is clean and simple in it's design because it's basically a one layer card...

well, one layer in my book anyways! lol! I stamped Melanie's grid line background stamp onto the Basic Grey paper that looked like a spooky Halloween sky to me. Because I really wanted the images to pop, I stamped everything in Black Versafine ink and embossed with Detail Clear embossing powder.

After I stamped the grid lines, I took GinaK's Spooky Silhouettes and Happy Haunting and built my Halloween scene in the grid.

I colored the moon with a Grey Copic marker and added stardust stickles to it and yellow stickles to the windows. The sentiment was cut out with SU's new label paper punch. Then, I wound Gold cording around the entire card several times to highlight the yellow glow from the windows of the haunted house.

The inside of the card is as simple as the outside. I love it when cards go together so quickly! Melanie's grid line stamp is a great image to use to make a really quick and easy card!

Now, my next card is a lot more detailed, but I love it just as much! lol! The first two things I thought of when I first saw Melanie's stamp set was paper piecing for a quilt/blanket (and you've already seen two cards from me with that idea!) and making the card into a large shaker. So, that's what I did on my next card...

I stamped the grid lines on some Eva Basic Grey paper in Black Versafine ink and embossed with detail clear embossing powder. This is also what I did with the stamp images from the Sweetest Blessings stamp set that I used on this card.

Then, I took my exacto knife and ruler and cut out several windows from the grid lines. I cut a piece of acetate to the same size as the stamp image and glued it together with Mono Multi adhesive.

Then, using foam tape, I went around the entire stamped image being sure to leave a spot open to add the beads. I used micro clear beads and mini silver beads from Stampin Up. The back of the shaker is a coordinating piece of paper from Basic Grey's Eva paper pack.

The base of my card was finished, so all I had left to do was to stamp and color these sweet treats with my Copic markers. After I cut them out, I used some Diamond stickles to embellish them a little since we all know sparkle is always good!

a couple of Eva buttons, some silver cording and organdy ribbon paired with an Eva glazed brad and it's finished!

Here's the inside view...

Great cards, Jessica! I especially love the Halloween card. It has such a spooky Halloween feel to it without being the traditional black, orange Halloween combo. The shaker is awesome as well!
