It's Time....

Good morning!

I'm sharing a card today that I made while thinking about my dad. Every June, he goes on a fishing trip to a favorite spot in northern Wisconsin. His brothers join him - and sometimes my sister's husbands join him for part of the trip as well. My husband isn't into fishing, so he hasn't gone along on the annual trip yet.

When I saw, this scene in Nina's Special Father stamp set, I knew that it would be perfect for me to use for making cards for my dad. I decided to pull out Gina's Autumn Leaves stamp set to make a little wooded scene with the water peeking through the branches...

After I colored everything with Copics, I took my chalks and shaded the sky and then took some colored stickles and added them to the images. I really like using the different colors to highlight the Copic coloring. It seems to enhance the colors and really brighten them up. Sometimes the clear stickles like Diamond and Stardust detract from the coloring.

I used Baby Blue on the water, Yellow on the Sun, Eucalyptus Green on the leaves, and Diamond on the rocks & lighthouse. After laying down the stickles ( by tracing the stamped lines) I took an old fine tipped paint brush and spread the stickles out to soften the lines a little.

Thanks for checking in with me today! I have another Father's Day card made with Nina's Special Father set to share tomorrow!

Oh Jessica, this is beautiful. I may have to borrow your idea for a masculine birthday card.
