It's a Zoo in here....

Welcome to Day 2 of our Previews for GinaK Designs! Tonight we are showing off Asela Hopkin's adorable new stamp set called Zoo Animals. I simply adore it and haven't been able to stop playing with it since I got it! All my faithful blog readers know what a sucker I am for cutesy stamps - and this set is CUTE! The sentiments that go with the animals are adorable too!

Since I've made so many cards with this set, I thought I'd share 2 tonight. I have several more that I'll be sharing during Gina's Release Party over at SCS on Thursday night. If you can't make it - don't worry, I'll be sharing them here on my blog throughout the next few weeks.

First, up is this adorable Giraffe with the perfect sentiment for him...

I think this would be a perfect card to give to your child who has been working really hard at something like school or sports, etc. and you want to let him/her know that you have noticed and appreciate them!

My kids have been working so hard at finishing their Awana books this year and I'm so proud to say that they finished their books last month! That's a record for them! If you're familiar with Awana at all, you know how many Bible verses they have to memorize to finish their books - so it's quite an accomplishment to complete it 2 months early. And the best part is that they challenged themselves to finish it early - I didn't even have to push them! Whoohoo!

Ashley is finishing Sparks this year and determined to get her book done before her brother - and she did! She beat him by 2 weeks and was very proud of herself! lol! For a second grader, I thought that was pretty great - and so did her daddy! Isaiah is in his last year and will be receiving the Timothy Award for completing his 4th book in the Truth & Training Group. So, I think I'll give this card to Ashley and make another one - a little more boy-ish for Isaiah to give to them at the Awards Ceremony in May. I know they'll love them.

My next card is kind of funny and would be perfect for me to give my husband the next time we have an argument....

Isn't that funny? Asela, you are so clever! I stamped each of the images in Black Memento ink and colored with Gina's technique from last week using Colored Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. It was also Emily's Potluck Challenge going on over at StampTV - so I was inspired to pull out my Prisma Colors and Koh-i-noor pencils to color again. They are so fun and easy to use to get some great shading!

The main image panels were stamped on Bazzil Textured cardstock - don't they look like they were watercolored? You should be able to click on the photos to make them larger to catch some more details. For the Ram card, I stamped the ram all over GinaK's 120 Base Weight Pure Luxury White cardstock (say that 10 times fast, I dare you - lol!) and shaded with the pencils too. You can see how much softer the look was on the smooth cardstock.

Here's the links to everyone else's blogs who are previewing along with me tonight - so be sure to pop over and check them all out! I'll be doing the same soon...

Gina, Asela, Joanne, Erika, Donna, Theresa, Kurtis, Melanie, Sharri, and Carolyn

Gina will also be having a brand new StampTV video featuring the Floral Frenzy Kit and the amazing Woodgrain Technique - you're going to FLIP when you see what she's been up to!

See you tomorrow for the last day of previews before the party!
Jessica
