Elegant Vellum Butterflies...

Good morning!

This morning is the last of our Previews before the big party tonight! Join us from 7-10 (CST) in Gina's Forum (follow the link above) for more previews, chatter, and laughs.

FYI: The party moves fast, so keep refreshing your computer screen to keep up. After you refresh, it will always go to the last post you read... scroll down to see what new comments have been added.

If you just want to see the cards and projects that everyone will be sharing, go to the main page of Gina's forum and click on the paperclip on the party thread. A separate window will open revealing all the files of the projects. Click on each file and it will open and reveal the project.

Today's card features GinaK's new Free with Three stamp set this month called Take Flight. This card is one of the favorite ones of mine that I made this month because I just lovehow everything worked together - the embossing, coloring, and cardstock colors! The blues and black just pop...

Card details: Take Flight, Vellum, SU, GinaK Pure luxury 80lb. cardstock; Versamark, Versafine black, Clear detail embossing powder, Snowflake embossing powder, Darice blue rhinestones, copic markers, Basic Grey glazed brad & fibers

I am in love with vellum paper right now and decided to pull it out for this card. I stamped the butterflies in versamark and embossed with Ranger's Snowflake embossing powder we carry in GinaK's store - not online though, at least not yet. It's the neatest powder - white with holographic thick glitter embossing powder. It really pops on the vellum.

The butterflies were stamped on Gina's 80lb. cardstock in black Versafine ink and embossed with detail clear embossing powder. Then, I colored them in with 2 Copic markers - a light blue and a dark blue. Because the ink doesn't soak into the paper right away, the copic ink sits on the cardstock & embossing powder for a short time which helps it to blend together really easily.

To highlight the blue edges of the butterfly, I used my Sakura Quickie Glue pen and sprinkled Doodlebug's Blue glitter on a few spots. Then, I cut it out and popped it up on the vellum overlay.

Join me in checking out what everyone else has come up with with this beautiful stamp set that Gina gave to all the Cruise Gals earlier this fall. I love the elegance of this set and know that it will be one I'll use over and over.

See you later tonight at the Party!!

***edited to add... Please keep Gina's dad and her family in your prayers. Here's the update Gina just posted on her blog this morning:

Hi Everyone,

Last night my Dad had what they think was either a stroke or a massive seizure. I got the call about 8:00 PM and I went right to the nursing home in time to find the paramedics taking him to the hospital. I was able to ride in the ambulance with my Dad and we stayed with him last night until he was stable.

This morning he is getting an MRI to see if it was actually a stroke or a seizure. He is answering questions and responds to his name but he has no short term memory right now. That may come back but they aren't sure.

I got home at about 3:30 AM. And found my stamp table, just as I had left it with the camera, ready to take pictures for my midnight blog entry. I have the blog entry almost ready as I couldn't sleep much so it was comforting to work on something familiar and keep my mind busy. I will be posting it in a little while.

We are grateful that he survived this ordeal and that he is stable and comfortable. Later today, I will go to back to the hospital to check on his progress and have a visit with him.

Our release party will go as planned and, barring any setbacks, I plan to be there. If not, I've heard my design team throws on heck of a bash without me.

Hugs,Gina K.
