Quilt Dies: Take 3

Good morning!

I'm back with my third post sharing a couple of cards I made with the fabulous WPlus9 Quilt Cuts dies.  (You can see my first post and my second post here.)

My first card uses the Quilt Cuts 1 die - that flower is so fun!  Once again, I used lots of scrap patterned papers from different My Mind's Eye paper packs.  I used my old Marvy circle and scallop circle paper punches - remember those?  Since MME patterned paper isn't very thick, the punches work perfectly.

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches chit chat stamp set.  I recently picked up a couple of sentiment stamp sets from Paper Smooches and love them.  The fonts Kim uses are so fun!  To finish off the flower I added a small little seaweed stripe baker's twine bow.  Then, I wrapped the same twine around the entire card front several times.  A couple of copic markers blended together in the sentiment were added to help tie in the green twine.

My last card is a smaller one - I don't remember off hand the size but I think it's 3 3/4 x 5.  I used the same Quilt Cuts 1 die and this time cut it out of lots of Die Cuts with a View textured scrap papers and then added them on the card at random.  After they were adhered, I used my sanding block to 'shabby' them up a bit.  The sentiment is from The Craft's Meow Stitched Sentiments.

Quilt Dies: Take 2

Hi there!

I'm back with another couple of cards that I made using WPlus9's Quilt Cuts dies.  My first card uses the same Quilt Cuts 2 die that I used on my other two cards that I shared a couple of days ago.  This card is pretty busy, with lots of patterns going on!  Once again, the papers are all from My Mind's Eye.  The twine for my first card is The Twinery's cappuccino stripe.

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Chit Chat stamp set.  I stamped it in black ink and then used a W2 Copic markers to add some shading around it a bit.

My second card uses another set of WPlus9 dies called Quilt Cuts 1.

The sentiment is from the same Paper Smooches Chit Chat stamp set - such a fun sentiment set!  I tied a tiny little seaweed stripe baker's twine bow to the center of the button.

I have one more post with a couple more cards that I made with these quilt dies - they were so fun to play with!  I don't quilt in real life, but give me some paper, dies, and adhesive and I'm good to go! lol!

Quilt Dies: Take 1

Hi there!

I have a couple of cards to share with you today that I made using some fun quilt square dies from WPlus9 called Quilt Cuts 2 Dies that I found over at iheartpapers.  I used a variety of scrap patterned papers from My Mind's Eye for my quilt square patterns. 

They cut  through the paper very well and made piecing it all together a breeze.  To make things a bit easier on me, I ran the paper through a xyron machine so that they became stickers when I was finished die cutting them.  I used Avery Elle's Handwritten Notes stamp set for the birthday sentiment.

My second card uses the same die but with different patterned papers - again, from My Mind's Eye.  I think I like this one best - it's a bit 'fallish' in nature, don't you think?

Get Well Wishes

Good morning!

I have a bright get well card to share with you this morning that I made using WPlus9's Blanket Stitch Blooms stamp set and coordinating dies (found at i{heart}papers) along with some soft pink Blossom baker's twine from The Twinery.  

On a side note, did you notice that you can purchase all the fabulous baker's twines that The Twinery carries in 15 yard wraps now?  Super affordable way to get all your favorite colors!!

The Blanket Stitch flowers stamp set is so fun because you build your flowers and leaves with the different elements in the stamp set.  They are very easy to line up and stamp in a variety of colors.  For my card, I stamped the outlines first and filled in with different colors using my Memento dew drop inks.

The Twinery: X marks the Spot challenge

Hi there!

This morning I have a couple of cards to share that I made for The Twinery's new X marks the spot challenge!

I decided to go quite literal with my interpretation of the challenge and stitched some X's on my card with my baker's twine.  For my first card, I wanted to mimic to soft orange in the stamped pumpkin so I used our lovely Canteloupe twine.

My next card uses the same stamp set but this time I used our Seaweed baker's twine to stitch a whole border on the card.  Then, I wrapped the same twine a couple of times around the lace as well as across the die cut felt grass on the tag.  The button was threaded in another 'x' with some platinum shimmer baker's twine.

To make the stitching easier, I used my Stampin Up paper piercing mat to pierce the patterns in the sections.  It was quite simple and went fairly quickly.  Then, I stitched using a basic cross stitch technique, taping the edges flat to the back, instead of tying off a knot to help minimize the bulk.

Hi There!

Today's the big day - our first day of school!  We've had a wonderful summer and I've gotten lots of things done around my house the past couple of months.  I'm sure this week getting back into the routine of school, soccer games/practices, etc. will be tough, but it's all good.  I'm always exhausted the first couple of weeks of school, even more so now that I teach the littlest ones at school but once again, it's all good.  I'm blessed to have such a rewarding job and one that I can do where I see my own children often throughout the day.

I have a sweet card to share with you that I made using a couple of stamps that you can find over at i{heart}papers if you don't have them in your stash yet.  I had a wonderful couple of months guest designing for Kate the past couple of months.  If you haven't check out her store yet, you really should.  She has top notch customer service and products available.  Thanks for the opportunity, Kate!

Oh happy Day

Good morning!

I have a fun card to share with you this morning that I made for my guest designer gig over at i{heart}papers using two Avery Elle stamp sets: 

Roll with It

O Happy Day 

I wanted to keep the card relatively clean and simple, so I stamped the bicycle image and did just a minimal amount of coloring with a couple of Copic markers, using some Stardust stickles to embellish the wheels and headlight.  

I hand-drew a double line around the white mat and colored with a light blue gray Copic marker and then added some scrap patterned papers from my stash, cutting notches in them freehand.

The Twinery: Back to the School Bus challenge

Good morning!

I'm sharing a couple of card projects I made for The Twinery's newest challenge.  There are some amazing prizes up for grabs - more about that in a bit.  

It's all about our yellow twines this time around!  I choose to use our Marigold baker's twine for my two cards today.

Back to the cards... so, on my first card, I was thinking of how ravenous my kids are when they come home from school each afternoon.   What's the perfect snack after a long day at school?  Why milk and cookies, of course! ;)

My second card was inspired by the traditional apples we always associate with school and teachers as well as how hot it always seems to get around here once school starts up!  Does that happen for your area too?  We've been experiencing a rather cool summer here in Wisconsin but I'm sure once the kids are back in school, the temps will heat up again! lol!

I added some scor-pal adhesive tape to the circle sun die cut and laid strips of Marigold twine across it to cover it completely, trimming off the excess.

I stamped the cupcakes in Versamagic chalk inks and added just a bit of sparkle with stardust stickles and some green pearls.  The sentiment set is so much fun to use because you can add the little 'tab' extras to whatever sentiments you want to... so sweet.

The Twinery: Pinterest Inspired Challenge

Good morning!

Today I'm sharing some cards that I made for the new challenge just posted this week over at 

The Twinery: Pinterest Inspired.

My first card is a pretty obvious CASE of the original.  I loved all the patterns Connie included as well as the die cut, twine, and ruffled trim.  I used a variety of My Mind's Eye scraps which I adhered to a 3x4 card stock mat.  Then, I die cut the apple and leaf shape from WPlus9 Pretty Patches Apple stamp set and coordinating Apple die (which I picked up over at Simon Says Stamps).

Then, I laid the die cut mat over the card front where I wanted it to be and traced lightly with a pencil mark to help guide my stamping.  I removed the mat and stamped with some Hero Arts shadow inks (purchases from i{heart}papers).  The lace border die is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and the twine I used was Blossom baker's twine.

I couldn't stop there though, so I made this second card using many of the same inspiration points for it.  This time, I wanted to stamp my sentiment on an angle - something I've seen quite a bit lately out there in 'blog-land' but haven't done much myself.  I used more scraps from My Mind's Eye scrap bin along with a couple more stamp sets I found over at i{heart}papers: Avery Elle's Celebrate and WPlus 9 Quilt Prints, stamped with a variety of inks from Memento.

You Float my Boat

Good morning!

I have a card to share with you this morning that I made with Avery Elle's Knotty

stamp set that I purchased over at i{heart}papers.  I stamped the boat on a circle die cut and colored the image with Copics, adding some stardust stickles to the boat once it was finished.  I curved the sentiment a bit to fit on the flag banner die cut.  

The background stripes are from the Knotty stamp set too.  I added some glue and white Doodlebug glitter to the white parts of the stripes.  Some Midnight Blue baker's twine was the only other embellishment I used for my card.  I wanted it to be a bit 'masculine' so I could give this one to my husband.

Patchwork Umbrella Friend

Good morning!

Today I have a card that I made for my guest designer spot over at i{heart}paper this month.  This 3" x 5/5" card was made using the sweet WPlus9 Patchwork Umbrella stamp and die set.  I also snuck in a blossom and leave sprig from my favorite Fresh Cut Flowers stamp and die set that I had left over from another card project I was working on.

I pulled out some My Mind's Eye patterned paper scraps and some gingham stretchy ribbon and stamped the umbrella patches to match.  I love this patchwork look!

Hi there~  

I'm popping in for a quick note today to share this card that I made for my guest designer gig over at i{heart}papers this month.  My card uses the sweet WPlus9 Fresh Cut flowers stamp and die set along with their A Pocketful stamp and die set.

I stamped the flowers in a variety of Memento inks and the pocket with a blue Versafine ink.  The sentiment on the strip is also from the Fresh Cut Flowers stamp set.  The papers are from Echo Park.

Sweet

Good morning!

Today's card was made with a couple of stamp sets from i{heart}papers: Avery Elle Celebrate (for the sentiment) and WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals stamp set and coordinating dies.  The swirls were also from the Celebrate stamp set, which I stamped in white ink.

These flowers and coordinating dies are so fun to play with and I've been seeing them all over 'blog-land' lately so I know I'm not alone in that thought!  During the summer months especially I love bright greens, oranges and pinks together, so that's the bouquet I built using inks primarily from Memento.

I thought the Cantaloupe baker's twine matched the papers, flowers, and button quite nicely.  The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye - I'm not sure which pack though since I throw my scraps together.  Kate has a great selection of patterned papers in her store and she always has a sale going on too!  Here's the link to the 6x6 paper selection on her store.

You Rock!

Good morning and Happy July!

It's amazing how quickly the months fly by, isn't it?  Today, I'm honored to be joining the designers from i{heart}papers as their July/August design team.  Kate's store is stocked to the brim with lots of fun products so it was fun doing some shopping to find products to make cards for her for the next few months.  Today is also a big day since Kate will be revealing the new designers she's adding to her team.  If only I had time to do more playing in my stamp room, I would have applied for this awesome gig!  Congrats to the new designers!

My card for today's hop was made with a couple of 'new to me' stamp companies' products and oh my am I ever in love with their stamp sets that Kate has in her store!  I used Avery Elle's Celebrate stamp set for the fun "You Rock" sentiment {LOVE those fonts together!!} and their Roll with It stamp set for the "so happy for you" sentiment. Then, I used several WPlus9 stamp sets for the focal image:  Fresh Cut Florals  and dies  for the adorable floral bouquet along with their A Pocketful set & dies.

The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye Collectable paper line - specifically their Notable 

and Unforgettable paper packs.  The inks for the flowers were all stamped in Memento inks while the denim pocket was stamped with a blue Versafine ink.
