Polished Stone Hummingbird
Hi there!
Today I'm sharing a CAS card I created using the Joyful Heart Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set. I really like this image and think it's pretty elegant on its own for the polished stone technique. I've shared step by step photos on how to do this technique on my blog before, so rather than going through all that again, I'll just link the original post.
For my card today, I used Ranger's Red & Silver alcohol inks, the Inkssentials tool with felt applicator, and glossy card stock. After getting the shades of red and silver I was looking for, I stamped the image in black Stazon and die cut one of the Spellbinder petite oval dies. A bit of layering with a petite scallop oval die and a Label 14 die, I was finished with the focal image.
Card Details
Stamps: Joyful Heart (SSNS)
Ink: Ranger's alcohol; Black stazon
Card stock: glossy; Echo park
Other: Sewing machine; Rangers Inkssentials felt, blending tool, and alcohol blending solution; Spellbinder petite oval, petite scallop oval and label 14 die; SU ribbon
Here's another photo so you can see the pretty silver 'threads' throughout the shades of red... love Ranger's alcohol inks - I think they produce the best blending results:
I decided not to put a sentiment on the card front, so I could use it for any occasion. Love having cards like that in my stash!
Have a great day!
