SNSS: Typewriter Text Background

Good morning!

Welcome to Day 2 of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' December release blog hops.  Today, we are featuring the fabulous new Typewriter Text Background stamp that coordinates beautifully with the Keep in Touch stamp set we showcased yesterday.

I had fun finding my 'shabby chic' design side while creating this first card today.  I stamped the background in light brown ink on this patterned paper from Authentique.  It's so soft and pretty in person.  Then, I stitched the paper on the card front at a slight angle with a straight stitch, so I could rough up the edges just a bit.

Once again, I pulled out my Nature's Silhouette 2 stamp set so I could add a bird and a leaf (which reminded me of a feather) because for some reason when I think of vintage telephones, I think of the saying 'a little birdie told me...' - why, I have no idea!  But it works for me!  I also used the Bookmark & More die for the tag - L.O.V.E. that collection!

To help bring in some sparkle, I added some copper shimmer baker's twine - wow, is this ever pretty in person with this card.  The copper shimmer really brings out the browns on the card and contrasts so pretty against the turquoise ribbon.

For my second card today, I wanted to add some color and use the background image in a more 'modern' and not so much vintage way...  So, I went with my favorite color of late, turquoise.  I can't seem to get enough of this color - the paper & ink is one of Stampin Up's new in Colors this year.

I stamped the background on white paper and was tickled to see all the texture that is built into this image!  I stitched it directly to the turquoise base and then added some die cut flowers and stamped them with their coordinating images from the Kindness stamp set.  I love the shape of these flower and need to pull them out a bit more often, I do believe!

Oh my goodness these are just beautiful! I love the turquoise pops of colour on the first card and how the ink matches the carstock on the second :D

Mmmmmm . . . turquoise has been one of my favorites lately, too. And I really love the pops of it on your first card. It is a great contrast with the neutrals.
