SNSS: Prim Blessings

Good morning!

The designers from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps are showcasing Diane Zechman's newest stamp set called Prim Blessings today.  I just adore this new set from Diane and had so much playing with it!  It's a new favorite in my stamp collection for sure!

For my first card, I wanted to pair the two bird image with the 'happily ever after' sentiment... so cute!  I paper pieced the birds and then colored their tummies just a bit for shading with a couple of Copic markers.  I stamped them on a frame die cut from the new Bookmark & More die collection.

I stamped the Music Background on kraft paper with white ink, but the stamp had some blue ink residue on it, so it ended up with a two toned look that I actually liked.  My camera however did not card for it and I had a hard time getting a true color photo as you can see from my close up.  The other goof on my card is that my thread tension went all wonky one one side of my card, so I just pulled out the thread and ended up just leaving the pierced holes empty on both sides of the card.

It was actually kind of funny all the little flubs I had with this card because the sentiment is about 'living happily ever after' and to all you married friends out there, you know as well as I do that there is no such thing as a fairy tale ending.  But, in all the 'glitches' in life, when you marry your best friend it's good - not easy, but good.  ;)

My next card is one of my favorites I made from this release because this sheep image is just too cute.  My mom collects sheep (my maiden name is "Ewers" after all!) so this one will probably be going to her.  I stamped the ewe onto a Decorative Plaque die cut, which was stamped with the coordinating image from the new Decorative Frame stamp set.  The little tag is from Mini Tags die collection.

Love your perfectly paper pieced birdies and that musical background looks so pretty and soft stamped in white on that kraft background. The doily makes the sheep look even puffier too, LOL!

Love your cards. Nice to know that I'm not the only one that has troubles sometimes making cards. If only mine would turn out as cute!

Paper piecing, stitching (love the music background), and framing - all perfectly beautifully crafted. Very nice anchoring (Copic coloring) on the lamb. Lovely cards.

Loving the sweet doily you used to frame each image.

Both cards are precious, Jessica! Love the paper pieced birds and music score bg. The striped panel of the second really makes the card pop!

Well, your 'living happily ever after' card is so naturally nice and beautiful! If you did not write those flubs in your post, I would have think that it is just the way you made it! Well, your card is just so happen to be true in a hidden way about marriage life!

Beautiful cards Jessica - and I love the first one - it appeals to me so much - the colours, the textures [especially the non-stitching :-)] and the sweet image so perfectly paper pieced!

Love these cards, Jessica! Stitches that turn into sewing machine 'lines' ... maybe there's hope for my tired & cranky machine after all! Thanks!
