TCM Preview: It's a Banner Day!

Good morning!

I'm back with another preview card for The Craft's Meow.  Tonight, we're showcasing another stamp set designed by Nina Brackett called It's a Banner Day which was designed to coordinate with Spellbinder's Banner Basics 3 die.

Unfortunately, I don't have those dies yet, so I choose to stamp the banner directly on my patterned paper, spreading and stretching the clear stamps to the angle shown below and then coloring them in with a variety of Copic markers.  Then, I stamped out the word 'love' with the alphabet that is included in the stamp set.

To embellish the banner a bit more, I adhered some small roses (from Wild Orchid).  Then, I used one of my favorite Little Frieda images - Little Frieda's Daisy to finish off the card.  Isn't she cute picking the petals from the daisy?  The sentiment is from Just for You.

Card Details
Stamps: It's a Banner Day; Just for You; Little Frieda's Daisy (The Craft's Meow)
Ink: Versafine black
Card stock: Crate Paper Emma Shoppe
Other: Copics; Spellbinder die; sewing machine; wild orchid flowers

I wanted to take the time here to answer a question I was asked about my Carnival card yesterday...

What a wonderfully cheerful card! Love all of the dots n spots! what die did you use to cut the tickets? And are the words on the tickets part of the new stamp set?
Thank you!  There is no die that coordinates with the ticket strip (at least not yet and I have no idea if there is one coming), so I used my trimmer and cut the stamped image out on each side to get it straight.  Then, I took my 1/4" circle punch and cut a notch out of each ticket edge.  It was quite quick and simple to do.  The words on the ticket are all part of the ticket image and since they are clear, it's easy enough to line up the three ticket image when stamping a row of tickets.

Contest now closed....

Now, for the fun part: Your chance to win this stamp set!  Check out all the designer's blog links on The Craft's Meow blog and leave comments along the way for your chance to be entered into the drawing to win the stamp set being showcased today!  Lisa will draw three names from all the comments entered by 10pm Pacific time tonight!  The winners will be announced on The Craft's Meow blog tomorrow night!

Good luck and happy hopping!
Jessica

You are just so smart! I do not have the dies either and that is a lot of fussy cutting. I did not think of spreading them out like that. Love the direct to paper stamping too. Great card Jess!
