It's time for another Wednesday Paper Pretties challenge! This time, we were asked to make a card using one of the new stamp sets we've been showcasing this week and to use Valentine's Day as a color inspiration. All the new stamp sets that we've been previewing this week will be available Wednesday morning (2/9) at 7am EST right HERE in the Paper Pretties Boutique.
I choose to use the new Happy Days stamp set and used the color red for my apple in this Graduation card. My card doesn't use all the traditional colors for Valentine's Day with the yellow and green, but I am in love with all things Kraft & Brown and needed some bright accent colors to finish off my card's theme.
While thinking about designing my challenge card for this week, I was reminiscing about celebrating Valentine's Day as a child... remember the joke valentines, the art project assignment of making the perfect box/pouch for them, the treats, the sugar-laden party after lunch - such fun memories! Just tonight Ashley and I were talking about how excited she is for Valentine's Day for these exact same reasons. It's a holiday right up these crafty girls' alley! So, I decided to make a 'school themed' card using the 'graduation' sentiment included in the Happy Days set. I've wanted this sentiment for awhile and am glad to have it in my stamp collection now!
