Layers of Color Design Team Announcement!

Good morning friends!

I hinted a bit about some big news and today I get to announce one item right here on my blog.  Several weeks ago, I was asked to join the Layers of Color company's design team. When Laura invited me, I was honored to be asked and excited to be part of such a lovely stamp company.  For the past few weeks, as I have been getting to know both Laura and her entire team (many of whom I have already been privileged to work with while I was the GinaK Designs design team coordinator), I have realized that besides the beautiful stamps I get to design with, I have also 'inherited' an amazingly supportive group of Christian ladies who love each other and are genuine friends.  I'm so thankful for this opportunity, Laura!  Thanks for the privilege to work with both you and your entire team!

I will be heading to CHA at the end of this month to help my good friends Jennie and Nina represent LOC.  What fun that will be - I can't wait!  I have lots to do to prep for the trip and can't wait to get the beautiful Layers of Color art stencils, clear art stamps, and Spellbinder compatible red rubber images  inky to prepare lots of samples to show off at the show as well as here on my blog.

Here's a closer view of the beautiful rose image...

and the inside view...

I chose to use this card for my 'introduction to LOC' card because yesterday I went to the funeral of a wonderful sister in the Lord who I was privileged to be mentored by and taught with for 5 years.  Linda was such a great woman,  someone who loved her husband and her boys more than anything.  She was an amazing teacher, too - full of vibrancy and excitement to learn and teach.

Many of her former students came to the funeral as well, honoring her memory and her labor of love to them ... it was really touching.  One student (who I also taught when he was in 3rd grade), delivered a beautiful tribute to Linda that I know she loved and really spoke to how loved she was by her students.

While sitting at the funeral, I was very teary eyed, thinking of the immense pain and loss that I could see on her husband and two sons faces.  Linda was their world and she adored them as well.  While thinking of these things, I was really touched by one of the verses that the Pastor read at the funeral...

Psalm 116:15
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

The grief of the loss of our loved ones is unbearable at times, because we have been separated from someone who has such a huge place in our day to day life.  And, I believe Jesus understands that grief and can provide the comfort and grace we need to deal with our loss. But, for the first time I was struck with a different perspective of death yesterday... that while we are sorrowing, God is pleased and rejoicing that His precious child, Linda Lervik is now home with Him - where she belongs.  That she is now living in the mansion that He has been preparing for her and she has been reunited with all her loved ones who have gone on before her.

I haven't talked to Linda for several years - you know how it is, we lose touch and get busy in our day to day life, etc.  But, I'm so thankful to know that one day I will see her again.  Thank God for the hope we have in our Saviour that this life isn't all there is...

Sorry to get so 'verbose' in my post today. But, I thought it fitting to share these thoughts with you because one of the reasons why I'm so honored to be part of the Layers of Color company, is that Laura and Mark are a faith based company.  And, life events such as funerals need elegant stamp images for us to use when we make cards for the loved ones who are left behind, don't they?  I believe LOC fits the bill perfectly.

Thanks for checking in on me today and thank you, Laura and Mark for the LOC family you've invited me to be part of!
Jessica

This is such a beautiful card Jessica! Love the coloring on the floral image and the dp is just perfect. LOC is blessed to have you joining the team and I am looking forward to working with you again...I have missed you a ton!!!
It is clearly evident that Linda Lervik made quite an impact on your life and was a blessing to you as I am sure you were to her as well. How wonderful to have such a wonderful testimony to leave behind and know she is rejoicing with the Savior... Will be thinking of her family she has left behind that He would comfort them and help them through the days/months/years ahead.

I've been trying to find some good GPA scholarships on-line, but couldn't discover any until now!

Then I found this site, so undoubtedly examine them out! They even give away large quantities of each day money!

The very best gpa to have scholarship in your education proper now!

Fabulous card Jessica and I love that quote you shared from Psalm 116, it is really worth remembering and as it happens , timely as I need to make a sympathy card for my niece-in-law.
