Pleats and Buttons!
Good evening!
It's been a busy day on my blog today, hasn't it Three posts in one day - unheard of for me! But, while blog surfing tonight, I saw two challenges that I really wanted to participate in and when I found out the PaperCrafts Perfectly Placed Pleats Challenge ended tonight at midnight - I knew I'd better get busy! Simon Says Stamps also has a fun Button challenge this week on their group at PaperCraft Planet. So, here's my card that I quickly made tonight to be entered into both of these challenges.
Card Details
Stamps: October Afternoon Report Card
Ink: Versafine Black; Distress Old Paper; Vivid brick red
Cardstock: GinaK ivory and soft sand; October Afternoon Schoolhouse dp
Other: Spellbinder classic oval die; copic markers; Basic Grey buttons; corner chomper; EK Success star punch; scor-buddy; sharpie fine tip pen
I scored the polka dot paper 1/4" apart which helped to form the pleats nicely. Then, I added a bit of twine along with a button to keep it all flat and the way I wanted it to be. The stamps are from October Afternoon and are PERFECT for a former teacher and a mom of two kids, don't you think? I love the vintage feel of everything that October Afternoon makes and was thrilled to pick up some new papers, stickers and this stamp set over the weekend at my local scrap booking store.
Be sure to check out the links above to see even more ideas from everyone for the two challenges!
Have a great night -
Jessica
