Good evening!
Tonight several of my friends and fellow design team members are joining me in showcasing the Card Kit stamp set of this month called Seeds of Kindness. I'm so excited to see what everyone has been working on for the hop tonight! Lots of links are at the end of my blog post, so please be sure to click on each of them for more information about the card kit as well as more samples and ideas with this fun stamp set that comes with a free card kit if you purchase it before August 5th!
While designing my cards for this hop, I was thinking about what coloring medium I should use for the beautiful line art designs and thought I'd do some watercoloring as I haven't done that in quite some time. So, I pulled out my distress ink pads, an aqua painter, and my craft sheet and got to work. If you haven't tried watercoloring with distress inks - you really MUST try it. The inks blend so beautifully and the colors remain so vivid, it's really amazing.
By the way, I stamped the images on both of these cards tonight with Versafine black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper. After I had finished watercoloring, I shaded around the focal image with more distress inks and a dauber to 'antique' the images a bit more.
Card Details
Stamps: Seeds of Kindness (GKD)
Ink: Versafine; Distress inks for watercoloring
Cardstock: Watercolor, GKD; DCWV white core
Other: Spellbinder nestability dies; ribbon; Tim Holtz embossing folder & sanding block; aqua painter; twine
My next card uses some October Afternoon patterned papers that I love. I'm a big fan of their papers - I love how all the paper packs work together so well. I have a basket that I keep all my scraps in so I can pull out coordinating papers when I'm designing my projects ... so, I'm not really sure what lines these papers are from - sorry!
My bow turned out a bit wonky - lol! I forgot to straighten it out before I took this photo, so just pretend it's not upside down *wink*
