Dance to the Music of Your Dreams

Good evening!

Tonight, I'm thrilled to share a special card I made for a special friend!  I was thrilled when Kim,  the super sweet owner of My Favorite Things asked me to be her "fabulous friend" - how cool is that!?  If you've been following my blog for a while, you already know how much I adore Kim's adorable Pure Innocence line of stamps and have seen several projects that I've shared with them.  Here's the link, if you would like to see them all in one spot.

Another line of stamps that I love are the Jolinne images.  When I saw this little ballerina image from Jolinne - Sweet Spring , I knew I had to have her - because when I see her, she reminds me so much of my daughter Ashley (who was a ballerina for a few years when she was younger).  I also have a few nieces who love ballet, so she was a perfect set to add to my collection!

My card is a 5 1/2" square card, so there would be enough room for this little dance scene - isn't that little bunny precious?   I stamped the images in black memento ink on white cardstock and using both copics and papers, I finished the scene.

There are several layers on the little ballet's dress - with dimensionals between each layer, so the dress would be 'poofy'... after all, everyone knows a real ballerina's dress needs lots of 'poofiness', right?

The top layer is actually vellum.  I stamped the image in Versafine black ink, embossed with clear embossing powder, and then ran it through my Big Shot with the Cuttlebug swiss dots folder.  Then, I used some Mono Multi glue only on the 'bodice' part of the dress and to hide the glue, I put a bit of diamond stickles.  To help it poof up a bit, I bent the vellum upwards and it kept its shape quite well.

I used the tulip images in the stamp set to create a subtle background on the pink card front.  A bit of stitching, sponging, and a fancy satin ribbon - and it was finished!
