It's time for another CSS Blog hop!
Several members of the CenterStage Spotlight Alumni team have gathered some of their favorite BBQ Picnic recipes together for us to make another cookbook! The cookbook will be available for FREE over on the StampTV Freebie page for you to download and print at your leisure.
But, since we are paper crafters - we challenged them even further to make a project with their recipe in mind to share with us tonight on their blogs! (The projects are also included in photos on the recipe booklet as well.)
The links to the team members' blogs are at the end of my post, so be sure to check them out after you view my projects.
My recipe for the book is Grilled Pizza - something new that the kids like to help me make so they can customize their own pizzas with exactly the toppings they like. The recipe itself is in the cookbook, so I'm not going to share it here on my blog.
While thinking of pizza, my thoughts immediately turned to circles because after all, most pizzas are circular in shape, right? So, I pulled out this YUMMY October Afternoon Fly a Kit paper and October Afternoon Cherry Hill stickers along with some images from GinaK's Spring Mix StampTV kit and made this 5 1/2" square card.
I stamped the flowers on a couple of the Fly a Kite 8x8 papers, shaded with Copics, and then finished them off with buttons and twine. Do you see the Circle image from the Spring Mix kit on patterned paper, layered over the card front? I really like how Gina's stitched lines in her stamp match the patterned paper! By the way, the background paper for the card front is from the 12x12 paper, not the 8x8 paper pack.
I stamped the mouse with the paper, colored with Copics and then trimmed the face and hands to make it appear as if he was holding this October Afternoon sticker - isn't he cute?

Stamps: Spring Mix STV kit
Cardstock: GinaK Ivory, Chocolate; October Afternoon Fly a Kite papers & Cherry Hill stickers
Ink: Memento Cocoa; Distress Old Paper
Other: Nestability circle dies; Copics; buttons; hemp; distress tool; blending toolMy next card plays on the same theme as the first one: circles and warm, 'summery' papers from the Fly a Kite collection along with the Cherry Hill sticker pack ...
This time, I used the butterfly from Eclectic Summer and a sentiment from Friends along with several elements from the Fly a Kite Collection. Can you tell how much I LOVE this warm, yummy collection?! I also used the backside of a journaling card to carry on the circle theme.
The butterfly was stamped on patterned paper and shaded with Copics and stickles. The cherry journaling sticker is accented with crystal lacquer and stickles as well. This is a pretty scrappy card - just look at all the layers and dimension ...
