Waste Not, Want Not Challenge

Card Details: Whimsical Autumn, Offbeat, Nestabilities, Threading Waters Border punch, Copic Markers, Momento Ink, Crystal Lacquer, Scallop Corner Punch

Good morning!

Did you go to Gina's Release Party in her Member Forum on Splitcoast last night? Her parties are always fun and full of lots of chatter and awesome contests & challenges. I want to share my challenge with you here on my blog.

I love designer paper - who doesn't, right? My problem is the scrap pieces that can pile up after my card making sessions. I have a hard time throwing any size paper away - no matter how small. I know it's just paper, but STILL! I love it and don't want to waste any of it.

So, my challenge is called "Waste not, Want not." I want you to use an entire piece of 6x6 patterned paper on your card with no scraps leftover to cluter up your desk! LOL!

Any 6x6 patterned paper will work. I've added a photo with the measurements of how to cut your paper. My suggestion is to cut the 4" strip first, then trim 1/4" off the bottom. Then, take the 2" strip and cut 2" off the bottom. Easy peasy.

***** Edited to add: The card size is the traditional size of 4.25 x 5.5 - sorry for not including that info in the first place!

Now comes the fun part! Decorate your entire card as you would like using all these pieces - be sure to make the inside pretty too! On the first sample, I took my 2x2 square and punched out one of Gina's EK Success Scallop corner to decorate the inside of my card. Here's the photo:

I used one of the new Basic Grey paper packs Gina added to her store recently called Offbeat - I love the colors in this adorable pack! Because Basic Grey paper isn't double sided, I wanted to show how easy it can be to use these measurements when you're using double sided papers.

The card below is using the new Black Market Paper pack Rhythm that Gina has added to her store with this release. You may remember this card, because I shared it here on my blog last month.

The yellow is the other side of the designer paper. I love that it's a perfect color match!

So, there it is - my first challenge! Be sure to use GinaK's stamps, if you have any. If you don't own any yet, you can use any stamps that you would like to. When you upload your cards to Splitcoast Stampers, be sure to use this key word in your description (it makes it so much easier to find them): SEPTGKDJF.

I gave you plenty of time - the challenge runs until Friday, Sept. 12th at 11am CST. At that time, I'll put all the names of the entries in a basket and pick the winner. The winner gets to chose a GinaK stamp set of their choice valued at $19.95 or less.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping by this morning!
