More General Cards

Happy Sunday!

Today's cards are some more Stampin Up cards of mine. They are both generic enough to use for almost any occasion. I try to always keep lots of these kinds of cards on hand, don't you?

The first card is a 4.25 square card - I just adore this size for cardmaking. They fit in a regular sized envelope. When I make this sized card a lot of times I'll have a little overhanging element to one side, which will still fit perfectly in my standard Stampin Up envelopes.

The Tree card has lots of bright spring-like colors on it - pale & perfect plum, old olive, and rose red. I stamped background stamps on the pale plum and rose red papers and inked the trees in black ink and stamped it on shimmery white paper from Stampin Up. Then, I took my daubers and swirled the same colors of inks all over the image to add shading everywhere. The envelope punch is from McGill. I like the little flowers spilling out, don't you?

Can you believe it's the last week of Summer already?! We've been watching the calendar inch closer to Labor Day. My kids start school on the Tuesday after Labor Day. My daughter Ashley is so excited to start school. Her bags are pack - and have been for a few weeks now! While my son Isaiah, wouldn't mind a few more weeks off.

I'm torn - I love the flexibility and laziness of summer but like the routine of school too. It's just all the homework, projects, bedtimes, and driving around that gets old pretty quickly, doesn't it? My kids have great teachers though and do well in school, so it will be fun to see how much they'll learn and grow this year. We're going to enjoy our last week of freedom - that's for sure!

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Jessica

Oooo I love that tree card! Well, both of them, but the tree one, love those colors together and how you did the shadowing! Awesome!

How exciting for your little girl! I can even remember getting my school supplies that first year, would pack them and unpack over and over, just itching to use them! LOL! And yep, changes as you get older...

Beautiful cards, Jessica! Yes, I do love your little flowers spilling out of the envie. That is such a great idea. BTW, I finally got the flip album posted on my blog! Thank you so much for the instructions on how to make it. My friend absolutely loved the album!

Hi Jessica
I have this stamp and I would never have thought of using such bright colours but it is perfect.
I must ink up my first GinaK stamps and have a go at the blog spotlight.
