Boy, I've been a slacker this week with my blog... sorry about that! Life, it just gets a little crazy sometimes, doesn't it!? Especially this time of the year...
Tonight I thought I'd share some pink cupcakes - doesn't that liquid applique frosting look delicious!? heehee...
This stamp set is one of my favorites from the Fall/Winter Catalog called Crazy for Cupcakes. At my last month's Stampin Up class, we made this card but I just realized I haven't gotten around to showing you the pink version. I shared the chocolate version in this post.
We paper pieced the cupcake liner with a piece of Chocolate Chip designer paper - love that stuff too! Then, for the frosting, we swirled pink - or brown - liquid applique everywhere and sprinkled dazzling diamonds glitter on the wet applique. A quick zap with the heat tool and you've got puffy frosting that looks good enough to lick!
Liquid applique can get a litte crazy when you heat set it. What I mean by that, is that it can puff up unevenly and get a little TOO puffy - at least it does that for me. So, to combat that, I add a sprinkling of glitter to it before I heat it. The glitter seems to help weigh it down and it puffs evenly every time.
I've been working all week on cards with the new GinaK Design's stamp sets that will begin to be shown Monday night at midnight. You are going to love them - I've been having so much fun with each one of them. There is such a variety of styles and designs this month which has been fun experimenting and playing with. I've been paper piecing, copic coloring, playing with vellum, heat embossing among lots of other things... I can't WAIT to show you what I've been working on.
Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!
Jessica
