I've been saving these cards that I made a while ago so I could share them during this Thanksgiving week.
Many of you know that I'm on the PaperCraft Planet's Design team. Our theme for this month is Gratitude. I specifically made these cards for the special Gratitude Album that we have been adding to the entire month of November. If you haven't checked it out yet, click on the name and it will take you directly to the PCP album.
I love this adorable Cornucopia from GinaK's Happy Thanksgiving stamp set. I colored the image with Copic Markers and highlighted some of the areas with Copic Spica Glitter pens.
The first card has lots of layers and is a little more detailed than the second card. I pulled the colors for the cardstock layers from the striped ribbon. Those are red Hero Arts gemstones that I added to the scallop edges and the Nestabilities label die.
This second card is a little simpler in design. I used my favorite elegant Cuttlebug folder: Textile to emboss only the bottom of the cardfront. To highlight the embossing, I took my favorite Metallic Rub-on paste - Holiday - and burnished the copper paste over the texture with my finger. The camera picked up the sheen of the paste quite well.
To add to the elegance, I corner rounded both of the corners on the right side of the cardfront only. Then, I cut a slit in the fold line of the card and threaded my coppery brown ribbon through it and tied a bow. I used a glue dot to hold the bow in place.
This image is also colored with Copics and highlighted with Spica Glitter pens. Isn't the font on these sentiments beautiful? I just love it and will be hounding Gina to use it again in another stamp set of hers soon... heehee...
I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for and am happy to add all of my blog readers to my long list of blessings!
Have a wonderful holiday!
Jessica
Both of the cards are just gorgeous Jessica! I love the vivid coloring on them, and love how you did that 2nd card, the embossing and using the rub paste, awesome!
