PaperCraft Planet Nestability Blog Hop!

The Supernovas on PaperCraft Planet are crazy for Spellbinders and we're having a blog hop to show off the new summer dies!  Hop along with us and leave us some love and you could end up winning one of the new sets!  We've hidden FIVE prizes among the Supernova's blogs, but no one knows which ones!  Leave a comment on one or all of the Supernova blogs in order to win.  (US Residents only, please.  Spellbinder's doesn't ship internationally at this time.)

The more you comment, the better your chances of winning.  Blog comments will be open until Wednesday at 6pm EST. The lucky winners will be announced on the Paper Craft Planet blog on Wednesday night.

Now, onto my projects...

I was thrilled to be given the Cherry Pickin' Set to work with for the hop.  While deciding what to make, I pulled out this K& Co. Marcella Jungle papers because I loved the soft color palette included in the pack.  When I think of cherries, I think of Americana - summer picnics, cherry pie, and country... don't you?  (I tried to find a link for the papers, but it must be discontinued, because I can't find it online -  Sorry!)

I've also been a bit addicted to using Fun Foam for die cutting - so, I cut out a few cherries out of some red and green fun foam for my first two cards.  They are so cute and really add nice dimension.  It's so neat to see how easy the Nestability dies cut the foam.

For the frame, I used a white core card stock so that after I embossed it, I could sand it down a bit for a shabby feel -

Card Details
Stamps: 100% Sweet by GinaK Designs
Cardstock: GinaK; DCWV; K& Company
Ink: Memento
Other: Copics; Memento Cocoa marker; Cherry Pickin' Nestability Die; sanding block; buttons, twine; ribbons from SU and Michael's dollar spot; fun foam; dauber; EK Success border punch

I also pulled out a stamp set from GinaK Designs called 100% Sweet to use on my projects - it seemed like a perfect fit to the Cherry Pickin' dies to me.

Stamps: 100% Sweet by GinaK Designs
Cardstock: GinaK: K& Co. patterned; DCWV textured
Ink: Memento
Other: Cherry Pickin' Nestability die; white gel pen; sanding block; ribbons from SU and Michael's Dollar spot; button; fun foam; copper nailheads; dauber; corner rounder

My next little project is a bit shabbier than I wanted it to be, but I couldn't resist sharing it because of how cute the little label from the Cherry Pickin' die is on this watering can - it's the perfect size, don't you think?

Ink: Memento; Tim Holtz antique linen
Other: SU Milk carton die; Memento Cocoa marker; Cherry Pickin' nestability die; ribbon; copper nailheads; sanding block; dauber

Last but not least, is a 5" Square photo mat that I will find a frame for soon.  It was one of my favorite photos of my daughter Ashley in it from a few summers ago.  I love how quick and easy you can customize your own photo mats with Nestabilities!  I've got to do this more often.

After cutting and embossing the cherry frame, I used a Copic marker with the airbrush system to lightly shade the cherries.  It's so soft and pretty in person.  The green brads framing the photo have a layer of diamond stickles on them for some added sparkle.

Happy Hopping and good luck!
