Stop and Stamp 1/16 Cards

Good morning!

Here's the 2 cards we'll be making together at Friday (Jan. 16) Stop and Stamp event at GinaK Designs. I plan on being there even though we are in a deep freeze here in Madison - so stop when you can between Noon and 6. We'll chase away the winter blues with these bright and flowery cards! LOL!

This first card is actually a shaped Nestability card - isn't it fun? We'll be using GinaK's 120lb. cardstock, so we can color the bee with Copics and not worry about the markers bleeding through. I didn't have time to add Glitter, but we'll have Doodlebug's glitters out to decorate with if you'd like to. We're going to use GinaK's Whimsical Valentine as our stamp set on this little valentine.

This next card is one that you could give to your significant other - or maybe a teenager or friend. We're going to be using Marvy's Scallop Heart punches and Basic Grey's Sultry papers to make this pretty card.
Here's the inside view of the card...

I hope you'll be able to join me tomorrow. You can make these two cards for $5 or they are free with a $50 purchase that day in the store.
Have a great rest of your day. The kids have a snow day today because of the cold weather - which they are very excited about!

Puppy Love Valentine

Good morning!

Here's another Valentine card that I made over the weekend. This time I used Penny Black's Critter Party. Look at how adorable these puppies are! Looks like puppy love to me! lol!

I stamped the images on GinaK's 80lb. pure luxury cardstock in Black memento ink and colored them in with a couple of Copic markers. I used my Sakura Glue pen and Doodlebug's Colored Glitters to highlight the flower and the little puppy's collar. That pen is awesome - it draws such a fine line, you can really get in tight spots with it! To make the dogs' noses shiny black, I colored over them with Sakura's Black Glaze pen.

There are all kinds of patterns and textures on this card - which I love! I used Basic Grey's new Bittersweet collection that we just got into Gina's store. I believe she will be adding them to her online store soon - if she hasn't already. I absolutely LOVE the browns and pinks in this collection!!

After cutting the plain Nestability heart out of a sheet from the 6x6 Bittersweet paper pack, I used the Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder to add some texture, which I highlighted with my sanding block. Then, I layers a scallop heart cut from SU's Chocolate Chip cardstock. These two hearts work so well together and I've been enjoying using them a lot the past few weeks on projects. The little puppy is on an smaller heart looking adoringly upwards to the 'top' dog.

The top panel was cut with SU's scallop border punch and then I took my Fiskars Heart handheld punch to punch out the hearts in each scallop. The sentiment was stamped and cut out with a labels trio nestability - that's my favorite nestability collection to use for sentiments because the three shapes seem to fit almost all of the sentiments I use on my cards.

Here's the inside view. This sentiment along with the one on the outside are from GinaK's Whimsical Valentine and it goes perfectly with all the hearts on this card...

Just a quick reminder that my Stop and Stamp is coming up this Friday, January 16 at GinaK Designs store. Stop in anytime between noon and 6 to make a few cards with me. I'll share them tomorrow on my blog.

Have a great rest of your day!

My Heart Belongs to You...

Good morning!

I had some time over the weekend to make a few cards and this is one of them - I love the non-traditional colors this one turned out to be, but honestly it was work getting it all together! I had a few elements that I really wanted to add and do with this card, but they didn't seem to work - so I pulled them off and started over!

I am a stubborn card maker (that's the only area where I'm stubborn... lol!) so I kept working at it until I was happy. And, now I love it! Isn't it funny how that is sometimes. So, I guess this is a labor of love card....

I used GinaK's adorable Whimsical Valentine stamp set - look at how cute that little bee and dragonflies are. The sentiment is also from the stamp set and I thought it looked so cute like a flag coming out from the flowers. We all know how much bees love flowers, right!? Doesn't he look like he's bringing a valentine to his favorite flowers? Yes, I know that I'm a little crazy.... lol! Stubborn and crazy...

I used some Stampin Up papers for this card - Basic Gray for the card itself, Brushed silver for the main heart and last years In Color Purely Pomegranate. The designer paper and buttons are from Basic Grey's Ambrosia collection. There are so many beautiful gray papers in the Ambrosia paper pack, so that's why I chose it for this card.

I decided to color the bee body in with a Copic T5 sketch marker, the heart with a R37 ciao marker and highlighted the rest of him with Sakura's Glue pen and Doodlebug's glitter. Since he's a boy bee, the majority of his body is grey - not yellow.

Here's a close up of my little boy bee....

I did the same thing with the dragonflies...

Thanks for stopping by and don't hold my craziness and stubborness against me, okay? lol! I hear those two qualities are fairly common in papercrafting circles - at least the craziness! *wink*
