SNSS: Born this day

Good morning!

I'm back this with another couple of cards to share that I made using the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' new Born this Day stamp set, just one of the new September products added to the online store.  The designer's are joining together to share lots of projects they've made with this set, so be sure to check out those photos/links at the end of my post.

This stamp set is so sweet all stamped up and so fun to color.  I choose to stamp the image and sentiment together on some vintage cream card stock and used a couple of Copics to color the image.  Then, I used Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' star die collection and cut some vellum stars out to layer over the manger scene, doubling up the one over the manger.

I used some clear raindots (remember those from long, long ago, stampers!?) to help accent the stars just a bit but still remain soft and un-assuming.  Some gold shimmer baker's twine wrapped around the patterned paper added a bit of sparkle to the card without being to much.

For my next card, I went with a few more layers, but still kept it super simple.  I cut some Christmas music paper from a paper pack and stitched it to the card front, with a straight stitch along one side and zig-zag on the other for interest.  The image was stamped and trimmed by hand then colored with Copics and popped up on a notebook die cut for a bit of a whimsical look.  A quick cappuccino baker's twine wrap and bow was all the embellishment the die cut needed.  I also colored the doily with some Colorbox light brown chalk ink to help soften it a bit.

Here's more from Korin about today's new stamp set and coordinating die:

  • Stamp set includes 2 images and 13 sentiments and scripture verses
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 6"
  • The manger image measures approximately 2 1/4" x 2 1/2"
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set - $15
  • Die set - $8.25
  • Bundle ($23.25 value) - $21
