Halloween Treats Class Projects

Hi again!

I wanted to share the fun projects we'll be making this Thursday, October 2nd at Gina's store. I have 2 class sessions - 11:30-1:30 and 5:30-7:30.

We'll be using Ranger's Alcohol inks to alter these 2 tins. During last month's release, Gina shared a super adorable treat pouch made with her Spooky Silhouettes stamp set that we'll make as well. To finish it off, we'll use the score pal and paper punches to make this fun little box. Then, we'll fill them all with candy! That's the best part, right?!

If you'd like to join us, I still have a few openings available. The class cost is $25 which includes all the supplies as well as the candy.

Have a great evening! I'll have some more cards to share with new stamp sets at midnight tonight!

Jessica

Let the Sneak Peeks begin!!

I'm so excited about these two sets that are being featured tonight! This release is focused on Christmas sets and there are so many awesome images in each stamp set along with great seasonal sayings and words. You're going to fall in love with them like I have, I'm sure.

First up is Rupa's beautiful set, The Magic of Christmas. I love all of Rupa's stamp sets and this one is no exception. When my husband saw these cards, he actually commented on how elegant this stamp set is - and he rarely ever comments on stamp designs! LOL! I usually show him my cards and he dutifully says that they look nice and such, but he hardly ever volunteers compliments without being prompted! heehee...

I'm excited to announce that Gina will be adding 3 different sizes of Clear Boxes to her Store on Thursday night. I used the large size for a gift card set of 4 cards and envelopes. To make the box a little more special, I stamped the snowflakes from her set in White Stazon before assembling it all together. Rupa has included 5 snowflake images in her set and I love them all! They are so beautiful and the details of each image is amazing.

I had such a hard time getting a good photo of my gift box. It was hard to get the camera to pick up the white stazon ink... but I think you can see at least a few of the snowflakes.

I love that Rupa included this beautiful dove in her set. I could totally see using this image for many other occasions. She has many beautiful words in her set - including the word 'Peace' - that are very lovely. I decided to keep my cards 'sentiment' free so the recipient could use them as she sees fit.

I'm so excited to show on my cards tonight a few new items that Gina will be carrying in her store beginning on Thursday, October 2nd! Along with the clear boxes, we'll also be carrying clear rhinestone stickers, these gorgeous flower, and Gina's own Pure Luxury ribbons!!!! Eeek!

Just wait until you see these ribbons! Organdy, polka dot, satin, grosgrain... ahhh - it's all so beautiful! I used the white satin ribbon with the gold trim on this notecard gift set. I doubled up my Sateen flowers to make white poinsettias and added a small rhinestone gem in each center.

I have to apologize again with the quality of my photos tonight. I'm so disappointed that they don't show the brightness and sparkle that is on each card. The white cardbase is Stampin Up's shimmery white cardstock, which I embossed with a Petite Oval nestability and then stamped with black ink and clear embossed the images. Then, I took some Stampin Up reinkers, my Niji watercolor brush and watercolored them with SU reinkers - with the exception of the dove image on the previous card which I colored with Copic markers.

Guess what else will be added to Gina's online store this Thursday night: Niji waterbrushes (my favorite and the ones I use for all the watercoloring classes at Gina's store) and Detail embossing powders in 4 colors: Clear, Black, Gold, and Silver. Plus, the best silver, gold, and white gel pens. I'm addicted to pens and these are my absolute favorite ones to use for my journaling in my scrapbooks and on my cards. More yummy things that I use all the time!

There are 4 cards in my card set, but I'm only sharing 2 of them tonight. I'll share the other 2 during Gina's Release Party in her Forum on Thursday night. I hope you'll join us! Gina's parties are always so fun and filled with lots more samples from her Design Team members.

Gina, Emily, Melanie, Carolyn, Lee, and Kurtis have all be working with Rupa's elegant set, The Magic of Christmas and have some awesome projects to share with us as well.

Next up, is Gina's super adorable set, Warm and Cozy Christmas....

Just look at that adorable little guy!! I'm a sucker for cute kid images and I fell head over heels for this stamp set. After cutting out a Nestability Circle on Stampin Up's Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the image in Momento ink and colored it in with Copic markers. Liquid applique sprinkled with clear glitter before heat embossing it added some cute little piles of snow that this little guy is trudging through with his Christmas tree on the sled.

I didn't take a photo of the markers I used, but I did jot down the numbers, if you're interested. I used BG75, BG72, BG10, BV23, B60, G24, G94, G99, YR65, R24, E00, E21, E49, 57, and the blender pen.

The blue paper is a sample that I received from the Coordinations Booth while I was at CHA this summer at Chicago. I sanded the swirls with a sanding block to bring out the light blue core of this amazing paper.

I used the large rhinestones on the edge of this card. Notice the greenish hue to them? I took a copic marker and colored over the gems. It's pretty light, but copic markers don't seem to make the gems very dark - they only seem to take the color a little bit, but it was enough for me.

In addition to Gina's blog, be sure to check in on what the other design team girls have been doing with this adorable set. Joanne, Emily, Melanie, and Lee also have some fabulous projects that I just know you're going to love.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back in tomorrow for more sneak peeks!!

Jessica

By the way, because I'm sharing so many cards tonight I don't think you'll be able to click on any of them to make them larger. It seems to always happen when I share multiple cards in one post. I will be sharing each of them at Gina's Release party and in the GinaK Gallery on Splitcoast, so hopefully you can get a closer look there if you're interested.

ScorPal Class Projects

Good morning!!

I wanted to post some quick photos of the projects we'll be making at today's ScorPal Class. We'll be busy - look at all this fun stuff we'll be making together!

Be sure to check out my post for Day 1: Sneak Peeks of two of the new stamp sets that GinaK will be releasing this Thursday, October 2nd at her online store! The new stamps are so awesome!

First up is this Card Satchel. It easily holds 4 cards and envelopes. I LOVE how quick and adorable this little card pouch is! Below is a photo of it opened with the card peeking out. We'll be making a set of 4 notecards to tuck inside.

It is kept closed with a hidden Basic Grey Magnetic Dot - LOVE those things!

Next up is a super quick little candy pouch. I didn't get a photo of this opened, but inside there is a snack sized M&M pouch. Perfect little gift for a co-worker or some special little trick or treaters that you know!

Lastly, we'll make a Card with a hidden gift card slot. These are so quick and easy to make. The last photo shows the opened card.

I found all the projects and patterns at the fantastic Project Gallery at ScorPal's website. They have awesome tutorials that are really easy to print out to keep for a handy reference tool.

I still have a few openings for this class if you are in the Madison, Wisconsin area and would like to join us. There are two class times available: 11:30-1:30 or 5:30-7:30. Call Gina's store at 608 579-1026 if you'd like to reserve your spot!

Have a great rest of your day!

September Birthday Card & Class Schedule

Good evening!

Well, I've been stamping and scrapbooking like crazy this weekend, but... I didn't get the chance to take any photos of what I've been working on! I don't have a good place in my house to take a decent photo of my projects, so I've been trying to get photos at Gina's store or outside on my kid's swingset. I'll be sure to get photos tomorrow!

I promise, there will be new stuff soon - Tuesday night at midnight previews for Gina's October Release Party will begin. I'm so excited about this release - there is such a great variety of stamps in the sets being released, that I just know will appeal to everyone! Be sure to stop by Gina's Forum on Splitcoast for her Party Thursday night from 7-10. I'll be the hostess for another challenge this month. My challenge will go live at 9:00 pm.

So, since I have nothing new to share, I'm going to show a card that I made with the Free with Three stamp set for September. I showed the card during the release party earlier this month but haven't on my blog yet. This set will be available for purchase on Thursday night - otherwise you still have a chance to earn it for free for just a few more days.

I've had a lot of fun with this versatile set - I love these leaves. For this card, I went ultra easy by stamping the leaves in my Fall Leaves Spectrum Pad. No coloring necessary. Then, I took my coordinating SU markers and spritzed them all over the card front with the air brush that SU sells. I took a pencil with a new eraser and dotted the date I wanted to highlight on this little calendar. This is a super easy way to highlight your card recipient's special day, don't you think?

It's Sunday night which is when I share this week's class schedule at GinaK Design's store in McFarland. I don't have any photos of the first two classes taken yet, but I will soon.

Tuesday, September 30 ScorPal (11:30-1:30 and 5:30-7:30) $25
We'll make a card satchel that holds 4 cards with envelopes as well as a Card that doubles as a Gift Card Holder. I'm also adding a card that holds a mini m&m bag that I just found - it's so cute! All materials provided in the class fee.

Thursday, October 2 Halloween Treats (11:30-1:30 and 5:30-7:30) $25
We'll make 3 different treat projects. One will be the treat bag that Gina shared on her blog here. The other 2 will be with some of the tins that Gina sells in her store. All candy and materials are included in the class fee.

Friday, October 3 Peerless Watercolors (11:30-1:30) $15
We'll make these two cards together in the class. A watercolor palette is included in your class fee.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great night! New stuff tomorrow, I promise!! LOL!

Halloween Projects

Good evening!

Today's Stop and Stamp was a blast! Thank you, ladies, for spending some time with me today stamping and chatting. It was such a fun day seeing everyone and watching everyone have fun stamping.

I'm sorry to say that I can't share any of the projects I've been working on lately because they are all made with some brand new stamps that Gina will be releasing this Thursday, October 3rd. Previews will begin Tuesday, September 30th. I promise that you are going to LOVE these new stamps!! Again with the teasing... sorry about that!

So, I thought I'd share some of my favorite Halloween projects I made last year with these adorable Stampin Up stamps. The first project is a little M&M treat holder. It's a pouch that I made - nothing fancy, but does the job. Kids are only interested in the candy anyway, right?

I made a little template by measuring my M&M packet, and formulated my own little template. It's nothing to special, so I'm not even going to bother to share my template with you because there are so many better ones out there. If you are looking for good templates, check out the ScorPal website - they have the BEST templates. Splitcoast Stampers is another awesome resource for templates and project ideas too.

The Trick or Treater is from Booglie Eyes - don't you love the 2 different sized googlie eyes on him? I watercolored him with my Watercolor Crayons.

This little card has lots of texture and dimension that the camera doesn't really pick up very well. The background is stamped with a variety of Stampin Up background stamps. The words are from Hero Arts. The teddy bear witch is from an old retired Stampin Up set called Costume Bears. I watercolored her in with Watercolor crayons and then I stamped her head, broom, and bat a second time and popped them up.

I hope you have a great weekend - tomorrow looks like a great day for me to play in my stamping room for a while. Hopefully I'll have something new to share with you instead of having to go into the archives... Lol!

Thanks for stopping by!

Jessica

Ashley

Good morning!

I don't have anything new to share today, so I thought I'd pull out a few favorite scrapbook pages I did recently of my daughter Ashley. She is quite the little model and enjoys posing for me when I get the camera out.

When she found out I was teaching a Copic Coloring Technique class on Tuesday night at Gina's store, she wanted to show everyone how good her coloring skills are too! So, she stamped Elmo and Zoe with the inks of her choice and pulled out her colored pencils and went to work. Looks pretty good, don't you think! LOL! She did a great job and is very artistic already at 7 years old!

She told me to take them to Gina's store to show my 'stamping ladies' that she knows how to color really well, too. When I told my husband, he laughed and said that she obviously doesn't have low self esteem issues... heehee!

Have a great day - I'm off to teach my Stop & Stamp Class at GinaK Designs Store in McFarland. I hope I'll see you there!

Voila & an Award!

Hi!

I have a quick paper piecing card to share with you this afternoon. I used this adorable Stampin Up set called Voila! and some retired paper called Western Sky to make this quick and easy masculine birthday card. I have several all made up ready to go in the mail when I need them.

I also have a belated Thank You to share to my friend Mary Giezma who gave me my first blog 'award.' Mary has an amazing blog called, My Cardz, My Passion... (my therapy!) - have you been there to check it out yet? I love her attention to detail and her coloring is amazing! Thank you for thinking of me, Mary!

So, here are the rules I was given along with the award:

1. The winner can put the logo on their blog
2. Link the person your received your award from
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs
4 Put links of those blogs on yours
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the blogs you’ve nominated

Now, this award has been going around for awhile, so many of my favorite bloggers probably already have this award. So, I thought I'd do something a little different. Yep, I'm a ruler breaker, I guess!

Here are 7 blogs that I love to go to for inspiration. They showcase lots of amazing artists and share sketches, color challenges, videos, etc. Check them out when you get the chance. I know you'll be inspired!

Watercolor Crayons

Good morning again!

Two posts today - how about that?! I wanted to be sure to share Cammie's amazing blog candy in a different post because it's just so special! I'm so thrilled to have met Carolyn at CHA this summer and put a face to such an amazing lady. Her love for her grandma is so special and something that I admire so much.

I want to share these little notecards that I watercolored a while ago because I haven't shared anything lately that I've colored with my Stampin Up watercolor crayons. They are so creamy and fun to use!

I stamped these images from Stampin Up's Summer by the Sea in Black Stazon on Fabriano Notecards. Then, I took my aqua painter filled with water and watercolored away.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful rest of your day!
Jessica

*By the way, when I resize my photos, my watermark turns all fuzzy. Sorry about that! I'm still working on the fix for it....

Cammie's Amazing Blog Candy!

Good morning!

Have you heard about Carolyn King's amazing blog candy yet?? You have until Friday, September 26th to enter to win over $1000 worth of product.

To be entered to win, she asked for a card to be sent to someone who has Alzheimers or to the nursing home where her grandmother spent her last days. My grandmother also had Alzheimers for many years before she died. I was born on her birthday - so it was always so special sharing a birthday cake with her. Her twin sister, my Great Aunt Helen is still alive and we make sure to exchange birthday cards each year.

Here's the card I sent out:

Have a great rest of your day and good luck winning Cammie's awesome prize!

Twinkling Strawberries

Good morning!

I wanted to share a card using Twinkling H2O's. For a soft glowing background, I washed a light yellow over the entire image. For the wash, I added several drops of water into the paint pot, stirred it after a few seconds, and then spread the diluted paint with a flat brush. The best results will be achieved by using watercolor paper.

My favorite way to watercolor with these fun little paint pots are to use a paint brush and a dish of water - the old fashioned way of watercoloring! I usually empty my aqua painter barrel because I love my Niji Fine aqua painter brush tip. Dip your brush in water, touch it to the paint pot and watercolor away, working from lighter to darker colors. The less water you use, the more sparkle.

I also like to stamp my image in Black Versafine Ink and clear emboss it on watercolor paper. The embossed lines helps the keep the paint inside the lines. It also adds a shine to the finished image.

This was a card we made at a recent Twinkling H2O class. I love the summery feel these colors all worked together to make. We used Nana's Nursery DCWV paper pack - those papers are some of my favorites.

Have a great rest of your weekend!
Jessica

Card Details: Giga Circle Frames, How sweet it is, Summer Harvest, DCWV Nana's Nursery, Watercolor Paper, Twinkling H2O's & aqua painter, stickles, glitter dots, Bazzill Blossoms; Giga Scallop Circle Punch; Threading Water Border Punch

Copic Vase

Good morning!

Isn't this flower vase from Gina's Friendship Blooms beautiful? I colored the image with Copic Markers after stamping the ink in Brilliance Black ink and clear embossed it. We actually made this card several months ago at one of my first Copic Marker Classes.

I have an upcoming Copic Class this Tuesday, September 23rd - daytime class at 11:30 or an evening class at 5:30. Since my first Copic Class, I've changed the class to a technique based one - we color 4-5 images together learning shading and blending techniques with a variety of GinaK's stamps. We also work with the Blending solution. We don't make any cards, just practice our coloring together.

I have a few openings for both sessions - you can call 609-579-1026, if you're interested in signing up for the class.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Jessica

I'm trying to hunt down the directions I used for the card - when I find it, I'll add it my post. Sorry about that!

It's a Stretch!

Good morning!

I love this new Stampin Up set, It's a Stretch. We made this card at my Stampin Up class last week. I showed a sample with one of the images, but thought I'd share the other 3 images here to show how cute they are.

All of the images were stamped in Black Versafine Ink and Clear Embossed. Then, we watercolored with some of the new In Color Reinkers: Kiwi, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Red Ridinghood, and Pink Pirouette.

We also used the adorable new Curvy Label Punch along with a variety of stamps. To decorate the label, I punched Kiwi and RidingHood flowers from the Three Flower Punch. Of course I had to use some new ribbon - so I chose the new RidingHood Tafetta ribbon - it's so pretty! We corner rounded the right sides of the card as well. FYI: To make these cards fit in an envelope, I cut the card to 4" x 11" and scored it at 5.5."

I love Punches as much as I do stamps - you should see my collection! I actually started collecting Paper punches before I got into rubberstamping.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of your day, friends!

Country Pumpkins Trio

Good morning!

I'm sure you're sick of seeing paper pieced pumpkins from me, but here's some more! Sorry - but I LOVE this technique with Rupa's pumpkins from her So Grateful set! Obviously, right? This paper is from the Imported Rhythm Black Market paper from GinaK Designs.

I actually shared these 3 cards during Gina's Release party and thought I'd post them here for you to see too.

Since I stamped the pumpkins on three different patterned papers, I HAD to use them all, because remember I have a problem throwing away stuff... yeah, that's right. I've mentioned that a few thousand times already to you... heehee!

Just a short post today. Today is my first time teaching a new group of 4 year olds for Sunday School. I'm going to miss my class from last year - they were so much fun. It's going to be lots of fun though, as this is also the first day that my son Isaiah will be joining me as a room helper. I'm looking forward to seeing him interact with the kids. He's excited - and so am I!

I'll be posting my class schedule for this week a little later today with some samples - so check back later, if you're interested.

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Jessica
