12 Days of Christmas: Day 2
Hi again!
I mentioned a little earlier tonight that we are having a super fun 12 Days of Christmas Event on PaperCraft Planet, helping us kick off the Christmas season! Have you had a chance to see all the amazing cards everyone has been working on for Day 1: A Partridge in a Pear Tree? Everyones cards are so great!
Saturday, November 29th's theme is Day 2: Two Turtle Doves and I'm the lucky hostess! Here's my challenge - make a card or project using either a dove or a turtle stamp. Now, if you don't have either image in your collection, use my example as an inspiration and use 2 elements from it to case - such as embossing folders & twinkling H2O's or vellum & cording ... get the idea?
Since this is a holiday event, if you could make your project a Christmas themed one that would be great! I can't wait to see what everyone will be coming up with!
Card details: Stamps: Christmas Blessings & The Magic of Christmas (GKD); Paper: Vellum, Pure Luxury 80lb. (GKD), Vellum (GKD), Doodlebug's Flocked paper; Cuttlebug & Embossing folder, Glitter Dots; Twinkling H2O's; aqua painter, Silver Cording; Bazzil black & white ribbon; Rhinestones; Versafine Black ink; Detail Clear Embossing Powder
This challenge is just for fun - don't worry about specifics. All vendors are fair game too. There are only 2 rules for you to remember:
1. Upload your card to PCP by Sunday, November 30th at 12:01 AM (CST).
2. Include the tag 12day2 - that way I can find it and put it in our Day 2 Album. It will also insure that your project will be entered to win a fabulous gift from our sponsor for Day 2: Cat's Pajamas.
Tag FYI: When you upload your card, there will be a section under your photo where you can add the specific details about your card. In the section that says tag, type in 12day2. The network doesn't automatically put your photo in the correct album, but it will group all the photos together that have the same tag. It acts just like the keyword section does on Splitcoast.
I will go through the photo gallery and put the photos in the album when I have the chance during the day tomorrow. If you are looking for inspiration click on the tag line in my photo on PCP and it will bring up all the other entries that have been uploaded.
Have fun!

Funky Acetate Christmas Bulbs

Good evening!
What a funny title, huh? Not too creative, I guess, but is exactly what these Christmas bulbs are! I shared these two cards during Gina's release party earlier this month but haven't taken the time to talk about them here on my blog yet.
For each of the cards, I stamped the snowflakes from Gina's Funky Christmas stamp set in White Opaque Stazon on a sheet of acetate. After it dried, I punched the Yellow Marvy scallop circle out of both the acetate and a piece of DCWV glitter paper. I pierced a hole through both layers with my paper piercer and put a silver brad in it to hold the two pieces of paper together. That way no glue is needed.
Then, I popped up the ornaments on the card with dimensionals (pop-dots). For the silver cording, I tucked a glue dot right underneath the ornament on top and stuck the silver cording to it. The cording was then tucked over the edge of the cardfront and glued underneath a white liner piece of paper. The bow with tied and then stuck onto the cording with another mini glue dot - I LOVE those things! The first card is super quick - a perfect size to stick into a gift bag. I just used a scrap piece of paper folded in half. Since DCWV paper packs are one sided, I don't even need to worry about the inside - because it's white on the inside! Perfect for a quick gift card.
The second card is a little crazy with all the papers and patterns going on! I stamped the snowflakes on the green cardfront with Memories White ink and then took the inkpad and edged all around it for a soft white glow. The edge of the light green paper with cut & embossed with a new Martha Stewart paper punch I recently picked up at Michaels. I took my Memories White inkpad and rubbed around it to soften it.
So, do you have your Christmas Tree up yet? We have a compromise in our house that the tree can go up during the week after my daughter Ashley's birthday. Ashley will be 8 on Sunday and is very excited for her Build-a-Bear birthday party that we'll be having with some cousins and friends on her birthday. It should be lots of fun for everyone! So, sometime this next week, we'll be putting up our Christmas tree and decorations - the kids can't wait! I'm hosting Day 2 for PaperCraft Planet's 12 Days of Christmas event - which is tomorrow! My theme is Doves - you know, "2 TurtleDoves" .... Check back tomorrow for more details and be sure to get out your bird stamps so you can play along! Each day a different Company is sponsoring with some great prizes for the winner!
Have a great night and I'll be back tomorrow morning with my Dove card!

PaperWorks Safari Animals
.jpg)
Good morning!
I am a sucker for cute stamp images and these set of safari animals from PaperWorks are adorable!! PaperWorks is a new company that is based in Canada. They are celebrating their first birthday and are currently having a great sale on their website. Check them out - you won't be sorry!
I received these three Safari animals in the mail last night and had to get them inky right away! Each stamp comes die cut and mounted on cling mount - so no prep is necessary - always a plus for any stamper, right?
The packaging is adorable too. Each animal comes in its own package with its story on the back of the laminated card. I plan on punching a hole in the corner of each card and using a metal ring to bind them together because the storage card is too cute to throw away!
The first thing I thought of when I saw these stamps was how cute they would look paper pieced and layered with designer papers. So, I pulled out another one of my favorite Basic Grey paper packs -Urban Prairie and started stamping! I just love the pinks & turquoise blue colors in this assortment.
I used Versafine Black ink and detail clear embossing powder to help the images really pop on the patterned papers. Whenever I paper piece, I like to do this extra step of embossing because it not only looks great, but it also helps me cut the images out a little more neatly. The embossed lines seem to help me see where to cut a little better, I guess.
To add a little more shading in certain areas, I used a few coordinating Copic Markers. Then, using dimensionals I popped up the heads to make them a little more 3D! I love how cute these guys look in person.
I used a couple of recent sketch challenges that my fellow design team gals have issued over at PaperCraft Planet. I'm new the sketch scene and am loving how easy they are to get out of my usual card layout ruts. Lucas the Lion's layout is Wendy's sketch 111508 and Gordie the Giraffe's layout is Tammy's sketch 112208.
After I finished my cards, I took my small bottle of Crystal Lacquer and added it to a few areas on the the animals - like the lion's mane above. Finally, I took my Inkssentials white gel pen and dotted the highlights in the eyes to make them pop.
Aren't these animals fun? My 8 year old daughter Ashley loves stuffed animals and went crazy for these little guys. Check out Peggy's fun website - you won't be sorry and tell her that Jessica sent you!
Have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving, my blog friends!!I've been saving these cards that I made a while ago so I could share them during this Thanksgiving week.
Many of you know that I'm on the PaperCraft Planet's Design team. Our theme for this month is Gratitude. I specifically made these cards for the special Gratitude Album that we have been adding to the entire month of November. If you haven't checked it out yet, click on the name and it will take you directly to the PCP album.
I love this adorable Cornucopia from GinaK's Happy Thanksgiving stamp set. I colored the image with Copic Markers and highlighted some of the areas with Copic Spica Glitter pens. The first card has lots of layers and is a little more detailed than the second card. I pulled the colors for the cardstock layers from the striped ribbon. Those are red Hero Arts gemstones that I added to the scallop edges and the Nestabilities label die.
This second card is a little simpler in design. I used my favorite elegant Cuttlebug folder: Textile to emboss only the bottom of the cardfront. To highlight the embossing, I took my favorite Metallic Rub-on paste - Holiday - and burnished the copper paste over the texture with my finger. The camera picked up the sheen of the paste quite well.
To add to the elegance, I corner rounded both of the corners on the right side of the cardfront only. Then, I cut a slit in the fold line of the card and threaded my coppery brown ribbon through it and tied a bow. I used a glue dot to hold the bow in place. This image is also colored with Copics and highlighted with Spica Glitter pens. Isn't the font on these sentiments beautiful? I just love it and will be hounding Gina to use it again in another stamp set of hers soon... heehee...
I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for and am happy to add all of my blog readers to my long list of blessings!
Have a wonderful holiday!

Simple Cup of Love
Good evening!Did you see that Gina was offering a 4 pack of circle nestabilities over the weekend on her blog for 'blog candy'? I think she closed off the comments and may have announced the winner by now... I haven't had a chance to look yet today. But, I thought I'd share a card I made with my circle nestabilities recently.
I love making shaped cards and thought Rupa's coffee cup would make an adorable little card. I used Gina's new 120lb. cardstock for the card base. This paper is so thick you have to run it through the Cuttlebug twice to cut through both layers! I ran it through once and then rewound it through to make sure it cut it out completely. Then, I embossed the middle circle - can you see how deep the embossing is?

After the card base was finished, I stamped the cup in Versafine ink and clear embossed it. Then, I colored it in with Copic markers and added liquid applique and glitter to the applique which I then heated with my heat gun to puff up. I really like adding glitter to my liquid applique before I heat set it because it keeps the puff manageable and adds a little shimmer to it.
The heart is an EK success medium sized paper punch that I punched out of DCWV Glitter paper. The ribbon bow is from GinaK's Pure Luxury Holiday Ribbon line.
Have a great rest of your night!

And, I picked number 1 as a bonus winner of an assortment pack of GinaK Pure Luxury Cardstock!! I don't think the first person who comments ever wins anything, so I wanted to give something special to her! heehee....

Am I really the first comment? Wow! Well, I've made 25 cards and Ihave about 5-10 more to go. I've used a couple SU! stamp sets, a couple Kim Hughes' stamp sets, and tomorrow I plan on using Gina K.'s Funky Christmas set for the rest! Actually, I have a few images from a swap that I may use. But I may just keep them to color sometime instead!

So, Angie - email me your address and I'll get it out to you this week!
Thanks, guys, for participating. I'm a little overwhelmed by how many Christmas cards and gifts I haven't even started on yet!!!!!

Cool Beans!
Good morning!I've been MIA for a few days because we have been having so much fun at the Madison Rubber Stamp convention this weekend! Lots of people have stopped by Gina K's booth to say hi. If you're coming today, be sure to pop and in and get an awesome coupon sheet for the store that is good during the month of December!
Gina and I have been demoing Copic Markers and Koh-i-noor pencils. Rupa kept busy showing how easy nestabilities are to use in the Cuttlebug while Shelly manned the cash register yesterday. Today, Karen joins us - so the whole crew has been having fun together!
Today's post has to be another short one, since I'm on my out the door to pick up some more things at the store to take to the convention center. But, I wanted to share these cards that I showed during Gina's release party because Rupa's Cuppa Joe stamp set has been so popular! I don't even drink coffee and I LOVE it!
On both of these cards, I paper pieced the coffee cups with some fun K&Co. paper. Then, I used the Clear Rhinestones to highlight the first cup. Notice the pink glow? That's from a red copic marker that I used to color them. The rhinestones don't take the color very well - but it left a perfect pink color, which is exactly what I was going for.
I have a Coaster Class this Tuesday at Gina's store. I have not had a chance to take a photo of it yet, but it's at the Show with us, so if you're stopping by today be sure to check it out. There are still some openings for both the afternoon and evening class. Hopefully I'll get photos today and add them to my blog a little later.
Have a great day!

Christmas Cookies!
Good evening! Are you one of the bazillion people that ordered Melanie's Have a Cookie stamp set?! They have been flying out of the store!
Lee Murphy (a.k.a. luvlee) just started a fun thread on Splitcoast Stampers where she asked us to share our Cookie creations. I realized that I haven't shared these cards here on my blog yet and I thought I'd do that tonight.
I stamped the cookie shapes on Gina's new Pure Luxury 80lb. White cardstock in Black Versafine ink and embossed with detail clear embossing powder. Then, I colored all of the images in with Copic markers and added diamond stickles to add some sparkle & 'sprinkles.'
My friend Sharri bought me these Dress it up cookie cutters last year as a Christmas gift and they worked perfectly with several of the cookie shapes. The paper is a fun DCWV Christmas stack that I found recently at JoAnne's. I'd love to see what you've been making with Melanie's adorable stamp set. If you've taken a photo of your cards and added it to either Splitcoast or PaperCraft planet, share the link with us in Lee's discussion thread, so we can all see it!
Have a great night!
I think I might need to get a cookie before I go to bed .... *wink*

Whimsical Autumn
Good morning! We had a fun Christmas card SAS class yesterday at Gina's store. I have the best job in the world, I think. Thanks, ladies, for coming and stamping with me! I had such a nice time with everyone! I'll share our cards soon - I've got to get photos of them still....
Today's cards are some that I made last Friday at my Stop & Stamp at Gina's store. I had some time in the evening to stamp and color with some of the ladies who stopped in to make cards with me. I shared one sample of the apple basket card with you last week on my blog.
We used Carolyn King's Whimsical Autumn and Koh-i-noor pencils, blending stumps, and Odorless mineral spirits to color. I can't say enough about these amazing pencils - they blend so beautifully! And as for Cammie's stamp set... well, I'm sure you all know by now how much I love it because I use it so much!
Last Friday, one of my stamping friends, Karla - hi, Karla! showed me some adorable cards she had been working on recently. On several of them, she had layered these two EK Success corner punches - Fancy Corner & Curved Corner. Doesn't it look awesome layered together? I can't remember if I've seen this anywhere else yet and I love the look! Thanks for the great idea, Karla!I LOVE it when people bring in the cards and projects they've been working on so I can see! We all learn from each other, don't we!

Don't forget to leave you comment on my blog post yesterday to be entered for a chance to win a free $18.95 GinaK stamp set!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Seasonal Sayings!
Good morning!Today's cards are some more Christmas ones that I shared last week during GinaK's Release party. I love sentiments and this stamp set Seasonal Sayings works so well with a lot of other Christmas stamp sets that I already have. But, sometimes I like to let the sentiment act as the main 'character' on my cards - especially when it's written with a pretty font.
And, right now, I'm loving the mixed font look! I really like it when script words are mixed with printed words... don't you? That's probably why I love this set so much along with Gina's new Tree Silhouette set.
For these cards, I pulled out my long nestabilities and cut out the plain shapes for the sentiments. I stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black and embossed with detail clear embossing powder. By adding embossing, it makes the sentiment pop more than just plain stamping in black ink.The snowflakes are cut from another piece of this Cosmo Cricket designer paper pack. It coordinated pretty well with Stampin Up's ruby red, cameo coral, and chocolate chip papers. To add more distressing, I sanded the edges of the designer paper with my Tim Holtz sanding block.
At today's Christmas Stamp a Stack, we'll make a variation of one of these cards. Aren't those shabby snowflakes fun? They are punched from Marvy's Giga & Mega Snowflake Punches. Punches like these make mass producing Christmas cards a breeze too!
So, how's your Christmas card making going? I haven't really begun mass producing them yet. I did make 48 birthday cards this weekend for my Sunday School class kids. Yes, we really do have nearly 48 kids in our 4 going on 5 year old classroom! They don't all come to the same service, thank goodness!! heehee.. can you imagine?
Our room is the LeapFrog room, so I got to use my Stampin Up Unfrogettable stamp set for them! Of course I forgot to take photos, so I can't share them with you - sorry! I'll try to remember to grab one and take a photo to show one day on my blog. But making them got me thinking about how many Christmas cards I've got to get going on making! I usually make well over 100 cards to send out - but I'm not sure how many I'll do this year.
Have you started your Christmas card stash yet? I'd love to hear how many cards you have to make and which stamp set you'll be using. Misery loves company, right? But, let's make this fun by offering some blog candy...
Leave me a comment on this post by Sunday, November 23rd at 10:00 pm on how many cards you'll be making for Christmas and you'll be entered to win a free GinaK Winter Themed Stamp set of your choice - valued at $18.95.
Good luck!

Good morning!I have a few Christmas cards to share this morning made with GinaK's fun and quirky Funky Christmas stamp set that she just released last week. The images are all full of character and like nothing you've seen before!
I have my Christmas Stamp a Stack class tomorrow at GinaK's store and we'll be making a variation of these 2 cards together along with 2 other designs with some of the new stamp sets just released.

Sketch Challenge Cards
Hi everyone!Did you see all the awesome samples everyone shared last night at Gina's Release Party on Splitcoast? If you missed it, you can still read all the chatter and check out the projects in her Forum. It's really easy to see all the projects that were shared - just click on the paperclip section of the Release Party Thread on the main page of her forum. A new window will pop up with all the links to the photos - click on each link and the picture will pop up.
Tonight, I'm sharing the cards that I used for my Sketch Challenge. All the information for the challenge is in this thread on SCS. I hope you'll have time to play along - the sketch is super easy! The deadline isn't until Tuesday night and there's a free stamp set up for grabs for the winner... and everyone likes free rubber, right!?Nov 13, 2008
Friday's Stop & Stamp Cards
Hi everyone!I'm headed over the GinaK's Release party on SCS, but thought I'd send out a quick blog post about the cards we'll be making at tomorrow's Stop & Stamp Event at GinaK Designs store in McFarland. Come anytime between 12 (noon) and 7 and you have the opportunity to make these two cards.

Everyone who makes the cards, gets to pick 5 free sheets of Bazzil Cardstock! The event costs $5 or it's free with a $50 purchase. I'm sure after tonight's release with all the fabulous new stamps and products that will be added to the store, you'll have no problem getting to the $50 mark! heehee..

The first card is a little deceptive because we'll actually be using Gina's new Funky Christmas and Seasonal Sayings to make it instead of Rupa's The Magic of Christmas. Everyone always wants to use new stamps, right!?
The second card features Carolyn King's Whimsical Autumn and we'll be coloring and shading with OMS and Koh-i-noor pencils.
I hope to see you tomorrow if you're in the Madison area and have time to stop and make cards with us! Otherwise, maybe I'll 'see' you at the party!
Have a great night!

Day 3 Sneak Peeks....
Good morning! So, how are you liking all the sneak peeks so far? Haven't they been fabulous!?!
Tonight we're showing the last 2 stamp sets that will be available for purchase tomorrow evening after Gina's Release Party in her forum on Splitcoast. I hope you'll have your fingers ready to do some serious shopping Thursday night at 10:00 pm! heehee...
Aren't these trees cool? This image can be found in Gina's Free with Three stamp set this month called Winter Trees. The sentiment are lovely too and in such a beautiful font.
I wanted a very wintery feel on my card, so I pulled out a favorite technique that always seems so 'icy' - cracked glass! I did 4 layers of Glassy Glaze (SU's thick embossing powder) but added something different too - do you see the sparkle? After the second coating of the Glassy Glaze, I used one layer of SU's Irridescent Ice embossing powder. So cool... oops, I mean ICY!
I used the same DCWV paper pack that I've been playing with all week - I love the glitter and shine that this paper pack has. I punched out some EK Success Snowflakes and put a Clear Rhinestone in the center - because I am so addicted to those little gems! They are awesome! The Scalloped Corner Punch is finally back in stock and I just had to add a little pop of blue and another snowflake to the upper left hand corner... love the touch that the photo corners add! I always adhere my corners with dimensionals, because I really like them to pop!
This last card shows an amazing new stamp set that Gina's daughter Alicia drew for us this month called Best Friends. I just love it and am in awe of Alicia's talent with drawing. I know many of the other peeks will show the adorable girl friends that she drew, but I was drawn to this adorable little iPod. Isn't it cute!?
I colored it with Copic markers and was thrilled to see how perfectly RainDots worked with it. Look - the heart RainDot fits over the heart on the iPod screen perfectly and the dial has a small circle RainDot too! This paper is from Basic Grey's Stella Ruby paper pack - look at those rich colors.
Here's the links to everyone else's blogs who are participating in tonight's sneak peeks...

Day 2 Sneak Peeks....
Good morning!Today we're sharing the two fun stamp sets that Melanie has designed for us this month. The first one is called Have a Cookie! and she designed it specifically with her mother in mind. It's an adorable stamp set that is filled with images all about holiday cookie making - which is something that I love to do each holiday season with my kids.
I stamped the stars and hearts on Gina's new Luxury White cardstock in Black Memento ink and colored the images in with Copic Markers. And then because no holiday cookie is complete in our house without sprinkles, I added some diamond stickles to the centers of the stars and pink cotton candy ones to the hearts. I love using the clear stickles because your coloring still shows through the glitter.
I was so tickled to see that these Dress it Up buttons that I have had in my stash for a while coordinate perfectly with Mel's set. You'll see what I mean a little better when I share the other 2 cards I made with this stamp set during the release party. Yep, I'm a tease....

The second set Mel is releasing this month is called Tee Talk and it is an addition to her other shirt stamp sets: Little Tees and Just so Sporty. Even if you don't have the other stamp sets, you could easily find a use for this set. I pulled out my favorite 'paper doll' paper punches from EK Success to show how great they work with paper punches!

Several years ago, I fell in love with these paper punches and had to have them. I spent countless hours playing with them and had so much fun creating dolls to match people and kids in my life. Yes, I know I'm a little strange, but it was so much fun! I pulled them back out to make a couple of girl friends with special T-shirts.
The dolls are made entirely of paper punches - aren't they cute!? I added a few touches along with the stamps - Clear Rhinestones, some detail work with my favorite .01 black Sakura pen, and some rosey cheeks with a blush marker.
I hope you enjoyed my projects - now be sure to check out everyone elses too! It's so awesome to be part of such an amazing team...

And the sneak peeks begin...
Good morning!
Whoo hoo! New GinaK stamp sets are being revealed tonight! There is such a wide variety of stamps being released this month, I'm sure there's something for everyone this month! Besides stamps, Gina has lots of other fun things up her sleeve that I KNOW you're going to love as much as I do!
And one of those new things is the ultimate White Cardstock!!! Can I just say, White Cardstock that's so thick and smooth that you think you're holding 2 pieces of paper when it's really only one.... and it's a dream to color on with Copics and Koh-i-noor pencils.... and it embossed beautifully... hmmm.... it's so awesome!!

My first card shows a sentiment from Gina's Seasonal Sayings stamp set. I really like this set - all sentiments so they will work with any Christmas stamp set you own. I paired it with this Queen & Company Felt Snowman Border sticker and some new DCWV Christmas paper. This card was so quick and easy - perfect for all the Christmas cards I still have to start making!
Take a look at those Carolers... aren't they funky? Well, I guess they should be since they are from another stamp set of Gina's being showcased tonight called Funky Christmas! All the images are so quirky and fun to play with. This is definitely not your typical Christmas set, but that's what makes it fun to me!
I colored the images with Copic Markers and highlighted some of the areas with Spica Glitter pens. Do you see those snowflakes along the side of the card? Yep, they are from this set too! I stamped them in Memories White ink - this is a really nice white ink that dries quickly and doesn't need to be heat set.
My last card is from one of my most favorite sets that Rupa has ever made.... yes, I know I say that every month - work with me! LOL! I don't even drink coffee (I always say that I'm not old enough to drink it yet... heehee...) but I am in love with each and every image Rupa included in her Cuppa Joe stamp set! You are going to flip out when you see the entire set!!!
I used Basic Grey's Mellow paper for this card. I think it may be my favorite Fall paper pack right now. I'm really loving the warm, distressed colors and patterns in this paper pack - it's perfect for the season. The big brad has a sentiment from the stamp set stamped in Black stazon so that it wouldn't smear.

I colored the cup with Copic Markers and then tried to add as many layers of paper as I could! I think hibernation is setting in here in Wisconsin... today it never got above 34 degrees!! Layers are a good thing right about now - even on my cards! LOL!
So, there are all my first day's sneak peeks, but be sure to check out everyone else's blogs to see all the beautiful projects everyone has been working on! I'm sure you'll be starting your wishlist...
